Game Story
The Manitoba Moose (7-4-0-0) fell 3-0 to the Milwaukee Admirals (6-2-0-0) on Wednesday evening at UW-M Panther Arena. They were coming off a 6-3 loss to the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday morning.
Manitoba held a lopsided 17-7 edge on the shot clock in the first, but it was the Admirals forging themselves a 1-0 lead. Tyson Jost used the time and space afforded him to walk in and snap a shot off the post and in, giving the home side a lead at 13:49 of the first. The Moose had a handful of good chances to score, but Matthew Murray was up to task, turning aside all 17 offerings. Domenic DiVincentiis made six stops in the frame for Manitoba.
Jost quickly made it 2-0 Milwaukee in the second. He beat DiVincentiis with a well-placed shot inside the far post. The Moose had two good chances right as power plays expired, with one including a loose puck that sat in the blue paint. Manitoba couldn’t take advantage, however, as the Admirals maintained their 2-0 lead into the intermission. DiVincentiis made 10 stops in the frame, while Murray remained perfect, tacking nine more saves onto his total.
Murray continued his stellar night in the third. The Moose couldn’t solve the veteran netminder despite 11 more shots directed toward goal. Chase Bradley iced the game for Milwaukee with a power play goal at 16:22, as the Admirals went on to claim a 3-0 victory on home ice.
