The Manitoba Moose (1-4-1-0) are in Tucson for the first time since 2017 to take on the Tucson Roadrunners (3-2-1-0) on Tuesday night. Manitoba lost a heartbreaker in Chicago on Saturday, falling 4-3 to the Wolves in overtime for a fifth consecutive loss. The Roadrunners played on Sunday, falling 3-1 to the Bakersfield Condors and have alternated wins and losses to start the season. Coverage begins at 8:15 p.m. CT on cjob.com, the Winnipeg Jets App or AHLTV on FloHockey. Action from Tucson Arena begins at 8:30 p.m.

Long Time No See, Friends

The Moose and Roadrunners have gone 3,124 days without meeting one another. Their previous matchup came back on April 9/17, at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg. Manitoba claimed a 4-3 victory in that game, getting goals from Francis Beauviller, Darren Kramer, JC Lipon, and Ryan Olson. Tucson’s markers came courtesy of Chris Mueller, Mitch Moroz, and Michael Bunting. Eric Comrie started in goal for the Moose, stopping 28 shots, including a Jalen Smereck penalty shot, and picked up an assist. Marek Langhammer turned aside 33 Manitoba offerings. The Moose went 2-2-0-0 against Tucson in 2016-17, winning both of their games on home ice.

Zhilkin Flying Early

Danny Zhilkin is closing in on some personal milestones just six games into the 2025-26 season. With four points (2G, 2A), he’s six points back of his career high (10), and only one goal away from tying his season-high, which he set last season with three. The Moscow, Russia native got off to a torrid start to the campaign, notching a pair of points, including a goal, in the team’s opening game against the Laval Rocket. He scored again in Manitoba’s meeting with the Grand Rapids Griffins on Oct. 17, his 100th AHL game, before adding an assist on Oct. 25 against the Chicago Wolves. In 103 games in the AHL, Zhilkin has recorded 21 points (7G, 14A).

Gus Bus Hits High Gear

David Gustafsson is leading the charge offensively for the Moose, currently sitting with five points (2G, 3A) in his five games since being loaned to the club. Much of the Tingsryd, Sweden native’s damage has come in spurts. He scored two goals in his return to the Moose on Oct. 12 against the Laval Rocket, and had another multi-point game with a pair of helpers on Oct. 25 against the Chicago Wolves. His other point – an assist – came on Oct. 17 against the Grand Rapids Griffins. The 25-year-old has skated in 93 AHL games, scoring 64 points (26G, 38A)

Walking Danger

Walker Duehr appears to be heating up for the Moose. The Sioux Falls, SD. native leads Manitoba with three goals, scoring once on opening night on Oct. 10 against the Laval Rocket, and twice on Oct. 25 against the Chicago Wolves. His three goals come on seven shots, better than a 40 percent shooting percentage. The sixth-highest mark of anyone with more than five shots across the AHL. Duehr has previously spent time with the Stockton Heat and Calgary Wranglers, before a stint with the San Jose Barracuda, after the San Jose Sharks claimed him on waivers in January of 2025. Tonight is Duehr’s 150th AHL game.

Who's Trending?

Mason Shaw reached 100 career AHL assists on Oct. 25 against the Chicago Wolves, ticking off yet another milestone in antlers. Manitoba’s captain has two points (2A) through the first six games of the 2025-26 season, following 37 points (17G, 20A) last season, his first with the Moose. Both of Shaw’s points came in the past three games.
