The Manitoba Moose (1-2-0-0) are back in Grand Rapids on Saturday evening, facing off against the Grand Rapids Griffins (3-0-0-0). Manitoba dropped its second straight game, 5-2 to the Griffins last time out. The Moose tallies came from Samuel Fagemo and Danny Zhilkin. Zhilkin Scores in 100th Game
Moose forward Danny Zhilkin skated in his 100th AHL game in Grand Rapids on Friday night. The 21-year-old celebrated the occasion by wiring home his second goal of the season, beating Sebastian Cossa under the glove to bring the Moose within a goal at 3-2. Through three games thus far in 2025-26, the Moscow, Russia native has three points (2G, 1A) in as many games. In his career, Zhilkin has notched 20 points (7G, 13A) across three seasons of work.
Fagemo on the Board
Forward Samuel Fagemo got his season off the ground Friday night, scoring his first goal of the campaign. From the top of the circle, the Göteborg, Sweden native fired a shot through traffic, beating Griffins goaltender Sebastian Cossa glove side to level the score at one. Since debuting in 2021, Fagemo has scored a league-high 133 goals in 271 games. His best season came in 2023-24, when he picked up 62 points (43G,19A) in just 50 games. Last season, the Los Angeles Kings’ second-round (50th overall) pick in 2019 produced 46 points (29G, 17A) in 67 games with the Ontario Reign.
Another First for Yager
After scoring his first professional goal in a 4-1 win over the Laval Rocket on Oct. 10, Brayden Yager added another first on Friday night in Grand Rapids. The rookie forward set up Samuel Fagemo in the first period to pick up his first assist. Yager’s hot start comes after totalling 332 points (129G, 203A) in 265 WHL games split between the Moose Jaw Warriors and Lethbridge Hurricanes. The 20-year-old was the Pittsburgh Penguins’ first-round pick (14th overall) in 2023, before being acquired by the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Rutger McGroarty in 2024.

After rejoining the Moose on Thursday, defenceman Kale Clague registered his first point in antlers with an assist in Friday’s loss to Grand Rapids. Clague was playing in his second game with the club. The Regina, Sask. native has 256 games of AHL experience, scoring 139 points (30G, 109A) with the Ontario Reign and Rochester Americans.
