Coverage of today’s matchup gets going at 6:45 p.m. CDT on CJOB.com, the Winnipeg Jets App and AHLTV on FloHockey. Puck drop at Allstate Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. CDT.
Thruning up the Games
Henry Thrun is scheduled to reach 200 regular season professional games in his next outing. It will be his 77th game in the AHL, with the remaining 123 coming in the NHL. The bulk of that NHL service was with the San Jose Sharks, but Thrun played four games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2025-26. He has 30 points (6G, 24A) in his AHL career, adding a further 25 points (5G, 20A) in the NHL. Thrun played 55 games with the Toronto Marlies a season ago, skating another 24 in the post season. The Southborough, Mass. native posted a combined 34 points (7G, 27A) en route to a Calder Cup Championship.
B2B, But Not the Sales Kind
The Moose are playing their second back-to-back game of the season. Manitoba scored an 8-3 victory over Chicago in the second leg of their back-to-back on Oct. 4, and meet the Wolves once again today. Chicago, however, has been idle since their trip to Winnipeg a week ago. The Moose went 12-7-3-0 in the second game of back-to-backs in 2025-26, going 7-3-3-0 in such games away from home. Brayden Yager led the way (among returning players) with 11 points (3G, 8A) in Manitoba’s 22 team back-to-backs, with Parker Ford registering nine points (1G, 8A), playing in just 14 of those contests.
Need a Goal? I Noah Guy
Noah Gregor is on a torrid pace to start the season for the Moose, scoring a goal in each of the team’s first three games. The Beaumont, Alta. native has five points (3G, 2A) in his first three games in antlers, bumping his AHL career total to 62 points (28G, 34A) in 72 games. Gregor has twice scored Manitoba’s first goal of the game, including their lone marker in a 2-1 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins a night ago. He scored the team’s first goal of the campaign on Oct. 3. That game was his 400th as a professional. Gregor has a goal in six of his past seven regular season AHL games dating back to 2025-26, when he was a member of the Charlotte Checkers.
Taking Aim
The Moose have peppered opposing netminders in the early going of 2026-27, ripping 104 shots through three games, an average of nearly 35 per game. Noah Gregor is the only Moose in double digits, recording 16 shots on target, while Colby Barlow and Henry Thrun make up the rest of the podium with nine offerings apiece. Every Moose skater has tallied at least one attempt on goal. Brayden Yager, Kevin He, and Davis Burnside lead the way with a 33.3 shooting percentage each.
Who’s Trending?
Parker Ford set up Noah Gregor on Friday night, recording his first point of the young season. He had three shots on goal in the loss. Ford is the owner of 93 points (42G, 51A) in his 176 games worth of AHL experience, and is currently tied for the Moose lead with a plus-three this season. The Wakefield, RI. native is in his fifth campaign as a member of the Moose.
