New Season, New Moose
The Manitoba Moose overhauled their roster over the summer, and are set to kick off the 2025-26 season without nine of their top-15 point scorers from a year ago. A revitalized roster features several marquee additions, including Calder Cup champion Phil Di Giuseppe, Walker Duehr, Samuel Fagemo, and Kale Clague. Supporting the new veterans are a number of young players worth keeping an eye on, with the exciting duo of Colby Barlow and Brayden Yager headlining the list. A handful of key contributors for the Moose last season are back in 2025-26, as well, with Mason Shaw, Elias Salomonsson, Domenic DiVincentiis, and Thomas Milic – to name a few – all back in antlers.
Prolific Fagemo
Samuel Fagemo has been one of the most dangerous offensive players in the entire AHL since debuting in 2021, scoring a league-high 132 goals in 268 games in that time. The Goteborg, Sweden native’s best season came in 2023-24, when he picked up 62 points (43G, 19A) in just 50 games. Last season, the Los Angeles Kings’ second-round (50th overall) pick in 2019 produced 46 points (29G, 17A) in 67 games with the Ontario Reign.
New Leaders
The Moose revealed their leadership group for the 2025-26 season Thursday morning. Mason Shaw was named the 13th captain in franchise history, while Phil Di Giuseppe and Ashton Sautner were named alternates. Both Shaw and Sautner were alternate captains for the Moose last season, while Di Giuseppe earns the letter in his first campaign in antlers. Previous captains for Manitoba have included current Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel, Jimmy Oligny, Mike Keane, and most recently, Dominic Toninato.
Young Netminders
The Moose currently have three goaltenders on their roster whose combined age is just 67. Domenic DiVincentiis (21), Thomas Milic (22), and Isaac Poulter (24) make for a young trio, with 159 games of experience between them. Both DiVincentiis and Milic spent the 2024-25 season in Manitoba, posting a .906 and .877 save percentage, respectively. Poulter joins the team after three seasons in the New Jersey Devils organization. He backstopped the Utica Comets to 16 wins last season.
Broadcast coverage of tonight's game begins at 6:45 p.m. CT on cjob.com, the Winnipeg Jets App or AHLTV on FloHockey. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. CT on 680 CJOB.
