Philly’s 250
Isaak Phillips’ next time on the ice marks 250 games in the AHL. A total of 50 of those contests have come in antlers. The Barrie, Ont. native played 199 games with the Rockford IceHogs before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets last season in exchange for Dmitry Kuzmin. Phillips became the IceHogs’ assistant captain in 2023-24, a role he filled until his departure. He has 90 points (26G, 60A) in his AHL career thus far. The 24-year-old has 56 games of NHL experience under his belt, all with the Chicago Blackhawks. He has 12 points (2G, 10A) in that timeframe. Phillips was a fifth-round pick (141st overall) by the Blackhawks in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Shaw Leading the Way
Moose captain Mason Shaw is heating up 11 games into the season. He has four points (2G, 2A) in his past four games, and sits second in team point scoring with six points (2G, 4A) overall on the campaign. Away from home, Shaw has been particularly dangerous, netting all but one of his points (2G, 3A) in seven road games. During his hot streak, the Wainwright, Alta. native has a goal and an assist against the Texas Stars, scoring his marker last night at H-E-B Center in Cedar Park. He tipped an Ashton Sautner point shot past Remi Poirier to open the scoring 2:07 into the contest. Shaw tipped over the 100-assist mark in his AHL career on Oct. 25 at Chicago.
Sautner’s Texas Triumph
Manitoba defenceman Ashton Sautner added another point against the Texas Stars to his history with an assist last night. In 2023-24, he scored four goals against the Central Division foes, accounting for 80 percent of his season total. Last season, he tacked on one more. Sautner is now up to 10 points (6G, 4A) in his 27 games against the Stars as a member of the Moose. That makes up 26 percent of his career goals, and about 10 percent of his career point total.
Third Period Pressure
In each of the past three third periods against the Texas Stars, the Moose have peppered Remi Poirier. In the game’s final stanza, the Moose own a 38-23 advantage on the shot clock, with each team scoring one goal each (excluding empty net goals) in that timeframe. In total, the Moose are outshooting their opposition 113-101 in the third period this season, outshooting opponents in six of 11 third periods. Manitoba’s second and third periods are tied for the antlered ones most active frames on the shot clock.

The Tingsryd, Sweden product has shared the lead, or outright led the Moose in scoring since his first game of the season on Oct. 12 against Laval. Gustafsson is two games away from his 100th AHL contest, owning 66 points (26G, 40A) in his 98 career games.
