Bouncing Back

The Moose have been shut out twice this season, including their most recent game against the Texas Stars. The other occurrence came back on Oct. 24 against the Grand Rapids Griffins, immediately predating Manitoba’s four-game point streak. The Moose played to a 2-0-2-0 record during that stretch, with both wins coming on the road against the Tucson Roadrunners, and two more points earned in overtime losses against Central Division foes in the Chicago Wolves and the Stars on Nov. 2. Mason Shaw recorded four points (1G, 3A) during the run, while Kale Clague, David Gustafsson, Phil Di Giuseppe, and Jaret Anderson-Dolan all had three points apiece.

On the Road Again

Following a brief two-game homestand early in the week, the Moose are back on the road, where they’ll play their next five games. The current trip sees a pair of games at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, followed by a pair of contests against the Rockford IceHogs, split by a meeting with the Milwaukee Admirals. Manitoba is 2-3-1-0 on the road this season, and currently owns both a two-game win streak, and a three-game point streak away from Canada Life Centre. The Moose have outshot their opposition 190-175 as the visitors, and have scored three of their four power play goals this season in hostile territory. Mason Shaw (1G, 3A) and David Gustafsson (4A) each have four points on the road, while all five of Phil Di Giuseppe’s points (3G, 2A) have been registered away from home.

Reducing the Roster

The Manitoba Moose announced on Thursday the team loaned forward Kevin Connley and defenceman Dawson Barteaux to the organization’s ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. Conley has appeared in a pair of games with the Moose this season, scoring a goal in the team’s home opener. The University of Nebraska-Omaha alum has posted 28 points (14G, 14A) in 131 career AHL outings split between the Moose and Iowa Wild. The Wausau, Wisc. native has eight points (5G, 3A) in 11 career ECHL contests with the Reading Royals and Iowa Heartlanders. Barteaux has skated in one game with Manitoba this season. The Foxwarren, Man. product has 33 points (7G, 26A) in 144 career AHL games split between Manitoba and the Texas Stars. The Dallas Stars’ sixth round (168th overall) selection in the 2018 NHL Draft has 45 points (5G, 40A) in 88 career ECHL appearances with the Idaho Steelheads.
