The Manitoba Moose (6-9-0-0) try for their second consecutive win when they welcome the Calgary Wranglers (13-5-1) to Canada Life Centre this evening (7 p.m.). The Moose earned a split with Chicago last week after a 4-2 comeback win on Saturday. Brad Lambert picked up a pair of goals in the victory. Calgary heads into the matchup having lost consecutive games for the first time this season after a pair of losses in Tucson.

Oh Captain, My Captain!
The Moose announced on Wednesday forward Dominic Toninato as the 12th captain in franchise history. The Moose also announced defenceman Ashton Sautner and forward Mason Shaw will serve as alternate captains. Toninato and Sautner were previously alternate captains with the team during the 2023-24 season. Toninato currently leads the club with five goals. The Duluth, Minn. product is the only Moose skater to have scored multiple game-winning goals, and multiple ‘first goals’ this season. Manitoba is currently 5-0-0-0 when Toninato records at least one point in a game.
Big Bad Brad
Brad Lambert scored twice in Manitoba’s win over the Chicago Wolves on Saturday. The outing marked the forward’s first multi-goal game in the AHL. He is the third Moose player to accomplish the feat for the first time this season, alongside Elias Salomonsson and Tyson Empey. Lambert previously recorded 21 goals as a rookie during the 2023-24 season. He led all Moose rookies, and was third amongst Moose skaters, in goals that year. He was also ninth amongst all AHL rookies in goals and finished second in points.
First In Antlers
Kevin Conley opened the scoring with first goal as a member of the Moose in Saturday’s contest. This marks the fifth time this season that Manitoba’s first goal of the game was scored by a newcomer to the team. The Wausau, Wis. native has appeared in eight games with the Moose so far, and previously totalled six goals and 16 points with the Iowa Wild during their 2023-24 campaign. He also recorded four goals in 36 games with the Wild during the 2022-23 season.
Welcome to the AHL
Fabian Wagner made his AHL debut with the club on Saturday. The Winnipeg Jets 2022 sixth round pick played 87 contests in the SHL with Linköping HC, prior to joining the Moose. He recorded one goal and six points through the 2023-24 SHL season. Wagner is one of three former sixth-round picks to play with the Moose this season, alongside Tyrel Bauer (Winnipeg) and Dawson Barteaux (Dallas). He’s also the third player to make their AHL debut with the club this season, alongside Elias Salomonsson and Domenic DiVincentiis.
Who's Trending?
Axel Jonsson-Fjällby recorded an assist in Saturday’s matchup; his third in as many games. The Swedish forward has six assists in the campaign so far, which ties him the second-most on the club, alongside Brad Lambert. He previously totalled 18 assists in 41 games with the Moose during the 2023-24 season, which was eighth on the team.
