The Manitoba Moose (3-4-0-0) rematch with the Milwaukee Admirals (7-1-0-0) tonight (6 p.m. CT) at Canada Life Centre. Milwaukee grabbed the first meeting between the clubs by a 4-2 score. Dawson Barteaux had a pair of assists for the Moose, while Vinnie Hinostroza had a trio of helpers for Milwaukee. Shorthanded? No Problem
Axel Jonsson-Fjällby scored shorthanded in Friday night’s action against the Admirals. The Stockholm, Sweden product is the third Moose player to score shorthanded this season, alongside Parker Ford and Dylan Anhorn. All three shorthanded goal-scorers also marked their first goals of the season. Jonsson-Fjällby’s goal on Friday night marks the sixth shorthanded tally of his AHL career; the second-most of any current Moose player, following Dominic Toninato with nine. The Moose rank third in the AHL with their three shorthanded goals. Manitoba finished the 2023-24 campaign fourth in the AHL with 13 shorthanded goals.
Point Streakin’
Nikita Chibrikov has recorded a point in each of his past three appearances, totalling three points (2G, 1A) in that span. Chibrikov leads the Moose with seven points (3G, 4A) through Manitoba’s first seven games. The Moscow, Russia native’s three goals pace the Moose this season and he is tied for the team lead in assists alongside Brad Lambert and Elias Salomonsson. Chibrikov previously registered 17 goals and 47 points during the 2023-24 season, good for fourth on the team.
Double Dishes for Dawson
Dawson Barteaux picked up two assists in the Manitoba’s loss against Milwaukee on Friday Night. This marks the fourth multi-assist game in Barteaux’s AHL career. The Foxwarren, Man. product joined the Moose during the 2023-24 season, in which he recorded 19 points (5G, 14A) in 45 games with the club, setting career highs in goals, assists, points and games played. Prior to his breakout season with Moose, Barteaux recorded five points (2G, 3A) in 57 games with the Texas Stars.
Shooter
Brad Lambert led the Moose with five shots on goal last night, and currently leads the club with 24 total shots. That mark is tied for 20th in the AHL. Lambert led Moose in shots in four of their first seven matchups and recorded four or more shots on goal in each of those appearances. The Lahti, Finland native previously led the team in shots during the 2023-24 season, alongside Parker Ford, each with 172 attempts on goal.

Chaz Lucius has recorded a point in two of his first three games this season, registering an assist in each of his past two appearances. Lucius previously recorded 13 points (2G, 11A) in 17 games during the 2023-24 season, and 20 points (4G, 16A) in 32 career AHL games. The Lawrence, Kansas product has points in 17 of his 32 AHL outings.
