The Manitoba Moose (8-6-2-0) meet the Chicago Wolves (7-5-3-0) for the third time this season. The Moose scored their fifth consecutive victory on Thursday night, downing the Wolves 2-1 to kick off their six-game homestand. Goalies on the Move
The Winnipeg Jets announced Friday they recalled goaltender Thomas Milic from the Moose. The Coquitlam, B.C. native has started nine games for Manitoba this season, owning a 5-2-2 record, including wins in each of his past four starts. He has posted a 2.14 goals against average and a .921 save percentage for the Moose in 2025-26. Milic has 63 games worth of AHL experience in his three-season professional career, tacking on another 36 more with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals in two seasons. He played one game with the Jets during the preseason, stopping seven of eight shots. As a subsequent move, the Jets reassigned netminder Isaac Poulter from the Norfolk Admirals to the Moose. Poulter 4-3-0 record with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage. The Winnipeg, Man. product has 77 games of AHL experience.
Five Alive
Thursday’s win was Manitoba’s fifth consecutive victory, and gives the Moose points in eight of the past 10 outings. The Moose previously won five straight games from Feb. 24/24-March 9/24 during the 2023-24 campaign. Axel Jonsson-Fjällby scored the game-winning goal in three of those contests, while Thomas Milic earned wins in three of the five games. This time around, Danny Zhilkin has a pair of game-winners while Milic picked up four of the wins. The Moose have won five consecutive games eight times since returning to Winnipeg for the 2015-16 season.

The Moose penalty kill has been nearly unbeatable over the past eight games. Manitoba turned aside 22 of 23 power play opportunities against during those contests for a 95.7 percent success rate. During that time, the Moose penalty kill is outscoring opposition power plays with two shorthanded tallies. Manitoba leads the AHL with four shorthanded goals. Overall the Manitoba penalty kill ranks sixth in the AHL at 85.1 percent on the season.
Winner, Winner
Prior to Manitoba’s win in Rockford on Nov. 15, Danny Zhilkin had one game-winning goal in 111 career AHL games. Now the forward has winners in each of his past two outings. Zhilkin recorded his first career multi-goal game and first shorthanded goal in Rockford. He followed it up with Manitoba’s second goal on Thursday. Zhilkin already has a career-high five goals through 16 games this season, matching his 97-game total for the previous two seasons combined. The 2022 third-round pick is operating at a 0.50 points per game average this season, up from 0.18 points per game in his first two AHL campaigns.

Isaak Phillips registered his first multi-point game of the season on Thursday night, scoring the first goal of the contest and adding an assist on Danny Zhilkin’s game-winner. Through 16 games in antlers this season, the defenceman has scored seven points (2G, 5A). He is six points shy of 100 points (28G, 66A) in his AHL career.
