The Manitoba Moose (4-8-0-0) take on the Chicago Wolves (3-6-1-0) tonight (7 p.m. CT) in the first of three straight meetings between the clubs. Both teams were in action last night with the Moose dropping a 3-2 decision in Rockford and Chicago falling 5-1 at the hands of the Griffins. Two on the Board
Tyson Empey scored twice in Manitoba’s 3-2 defeat against Rockford, posting his first career AHL multi-goal game. The Swift Current, Sask. product joins Elias Salomonsson as the only Moose players to record a multi-goal effort this season. Empey notched the milestone in his 90th career AHL contest. With his two goals against Rockford, Empey has matched his previous career high of three goals in just six games with the Moose. He previously recorded three goals in 63 games with the Tuscon Roadrunners in 2021-22. Empey has 18 points (7G, 11A) in his 90 career AHL games.
It’s Saturday Night!
The Moose face off against the Chicago Wolves in Saturday night action this weekend. This will be the club’s sixth Saturday game of the season, with a current record of 2-3-0-0 in Saturday games. Brad Lambert (4A) and Nikita Chibrikov (2G, 2A) are tied for the team lead on Saturday with four points each. Ben King, Nikita Chibrikov, and Mason Shaw lead the Moose in goals scored on Saturday’s, with two each.
Three’s Company
Tyson Empey recorded his second and third goals of the season on Friday night, earning his spot in the six-way tie for the club’s leading goal scorer. Elias Salomonsson, Nikita Chibrikov, Ben King, Mason Shaw, Dominic Toninato, and Empey have each recorded three goals through Manitoba’s first twelve games of the campaign. Chibrikov and Salomonsson lead the way in points, with nine each, and Brad Lambert joins the pair at the top in assists, each with six helpers.
I Know You!
The Moose could see a player familiar to the organization tonight in Chicago Wolves forward Brendan Lemieux. The Denver, Colo. product appeared in 117 games with the Moose, recording 65 points (33G, 32A) before going on to play 307 NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes. Lemieux last played for the Moose during the 2017-18 season. The only player to skate with Lemieux still on the Moose roster is C.J. Suess who made his AHL debut, playing six games with Manitoba to close the regular season. Moose head coach Mark Morrison and assistant coach Eric Dubois both worked with the winger during his time on the Moose roster.

Moose rookie Mark Liwiski recorded his first assist of the 2024-25 campaign in Manitoba’s loss against Rockford on Friday night. The Dauphin, Man. export previously recorded a goal and an assist in seven games with the Moose through the 2023-24 season, as well as 11 goals and 24 points with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals during the campaign.
