The Manitoba Moose (23-35-2-3) conclude their three-game road trip with a rematch against the Rockford IceHogs (27-28-6-2) tonight. Puck drop at BMO Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. The Moose snapped a three-game skid with a 2-1 victory last night against the IceHogs. It was Manitoba’s second consecutive win in the season series. Rockford’s loss was the IceHogs' second straight defeat. Picking Corners
Danny Zhilkin scored the game-winning goal last night with his power play tally five minutes into the second period. The goal checked off multiple milestones for the second-year pro. The tally was the first power play goal of Zhilkin’s AHL career, as well as his first game-winner. It was also his third goal of the campaign, mark a new career high through 44 games. After scoring his first goal of the season in his 35th game, Zhilkin has three goals in his past 10 contests. The Winnipeg Jets third round pick in 2022 has six points (3G, 3A) on the season.
Hang 10
Dylan Coghlan buried his 10th goal of the campaign in last night’s win. The defenceman reached double-digits for the fourth time in his AHL career. It’s the second-fastest Coghlan reached the mark in his career after scoring his 10th goal in his 25th game during the 2023-24 season. The Duncan, B.C. product is tied for 10th among AHL defencemen in goal-scoring, despite having only played 28 AHL games this season. With 23 points (10G, 13A) in his 28 games, Coghlan ranks sixth among AHL defenders (min. 20 GP) with .82 points per game.
Streakin’
Tyson Empey’s first period assist last night extends his point streak to three games. Empey has three points (1G, 2A) over the span. The three-game run is the longest point streak of the Swift Current, Sask. product’s AHL career. It’s the third time this season Empey has recorded points in a set of consecutive games. The assist also served to push the winger to 12 points (7G, 5A) on the season, matching his career high set during the 2021-22 campaign with Tucson. Empey has eight points (3G, 5A) of his total over the past 18 games.
Picking Apples
Brad Lambert tallied his team-leading 15th power play point (2G, 13A) in last night’s contest. The assist brings Lambert up to 28 helpers on the season, which also leads the Moose. The forward’s pace is just slightly off his 34 assists in 64 games set during his rookie campaign. Lambert hasn’t gone more than two games without an assist since Dec. 29, a span of 32 games. Overall, the Lahti, Finland product has 32 points (4G, 28A) in 54 games, ranking second on Manitoba in scoring. Lambert is up to 90 points (27G, 63A) in 132 career AHL contests.

Elias Salomonsson picked up his ninth primary assist of the season on Danny Zhilkin’s power play tally. The assist also marked Salomonsson’s 10th power play assist of the season. That mark is tied for third among the AHL’s rookie defencemen. The Skellefteå, Sweden product is also tied for second among rookie defenders with four power play goals.
