The Manitoba Moose (18-30-1-1) wrap up their six-game road trip today against the Toronto Marlies (27-15-3-6) today. Puck drop at Coca-Cola Coliseum is slated for 3 p.m. CT. The Moose head into today's season-series finale with Toronto following a 5-3 loss to Belleville last night. Meanwhile Toronto has lost four straight games. A Farewell to February

The Moose closed out February with a 6-6-0-0 record in 12 games. Improved special teams helped drive Manitoba during the month. The Moose wen 9/32 (27.3%) on the power play in February. Meanwhile the penalty kill turned aside opposition power plays at an 82.1 percent clip. Dylan Coghlan led the Moose with 11 points (6G, 5A) in 10 games, with Dominic Toninato right behind him at 10 points (5G, 5A) in 12 outings. Brad Lambert led the team with eight assists. Domenic DiVincentiis picked up four wins to pace Moose netminders.

First in Antlers

Ryan Chyzowski nabbed his first goal as a member of the Moose on Friday. Chyzowski achieved the milstone playing in his seventh game of the season with Manitoba. The Kamloops, B.C. product was also a plus-one rating in the loss. The tally was Chyzowski’s eighth career AHL goal, having scored the previous seven as a member of the Marlies from 2021-23. In 33 ECHL games this season, Chyzowski has 27 points (9G, 18A) with the Norfolk Admirals.

Keep ‘Em Coming

Dominic Toninato is on a scoring tear with goals in three consecutive games and four of his past five contests. Toninato has 11 points (6G, 5A) over his past 14 games. The run began shortly after the Duluth, Minn. product spent nearly a month in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets.  Toninato has 22 points (12G, 10A) on the campaign in 40 games. That puts the 2012 Toronto Maple Leafs fifth round pick clear of his 20 points (7G, 13A) in 37 games from 2023-24. The 22 points are Toninato’s third-highest total, with his second-highest the 29 points (14G, 15A) he recorded in 2018-19 with the Colorado Eagles.

Give Me 20

Axel Jonsson-Fjällby picked up a goal and an assist in Friday’s loss. The pair of points helps Jonsson-Fjällby reach 20 points (7G, 13A) on the season. It’s the fourth time the winger has reached the mark in his career, and fourth consecutive when playing at least 40 games. The multi-point effort was Jonsson-Fjällby’s fourth of the season. He also recorded four shots on goal for the fifth time on the campaign.

Elias Salomonsson picked up another assist on Friday night. The helper gives Salomonsson four assists over his past two games after the defender tallied a career-high three assists on Wednesday. The Skellefteå, Sweden product is second on the Moose in assists while he leads the team’s rookies and defencemen with
19 points (3G, 16A) in 31 games.
