Phil “Iced Out” Di Giuseppe
Moose forward Phil Di Giuseppe returned to Abbotsford on Tuesday evening, receiving his championship ring after winning the Calder Cup as a member of the Canucks in 2025. Di Giuseppe recorded an assist in the Moose win. The Toronto, Ont. native played parts of three seasons with Abbotsford, skating in 101 games while scoring 77 points (29G, 48A). During the Calder Cup run, Di Giuseppe contributed a further 11 points (6G, 5A) in 24 contests. That included an assist on Max Sasson’s game-winning goal in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, sending the Canucks to the Calder Cup Finals. Di Giuseppe has scored 25 points (10G, 15A) in 52 games since joining the Moose.
52 Down, 20 to Go
The Moose are into the stretch run of their 2025-26 season, with just 20 games remaining on their schedule. Their 27-19-5-1 record is good for third in the Central Division, two points ahead of the Texas Stars. Left on the schedule are 10 fixtures at Canada Life Centre, with an equal share away from home. Manitoba has 11 games left against teams in their own division, with eight of those coming on home ice, including a pair of meetings on April 10 and April 12 against the Stars. Including tonight’s game in Abbotsford, the Moose will play seven contests against Canadian rivals, all of which come away from home. Manitoba’s magic number to clinch a playoff berth is currently 20.
Line ‘em Up, Knock ‘em Down
The Moose have been downright stingy the past three games. Manitoba, allowed just two goals in that timeframe, earning shutouts in each of the past two outings. Thomas Milic combined for 61 saves in a pair of shutouts, while Domenic DiVincentiis turned aside 27 of 29 offerings on March 6. The last time a Moose goaltender recorded consecutive shutouts was Nov. 8 & 9, 2019. Mikhail Berdin stopped 41 shots against the Rockford IceHogs, before making 26 more against the Chicago Wolves the following night. As a team, Manitoba has allowed the fifth-fewest goals of any team in the AHL, conceding 143 times in 52 contests.
Stay Hot, Philly
Isaak Phillips kept on rolling Tuesday night, notching a pair of points (1G, 1A) in Manitoba’s win over Abbotsford. It pushed his season total to 22 points (7G, 15A) through 47 games, good for the most among Moose defenders. Since Dec. 12, the Barrie, Ont. native hasn’t gone more than two games without registering a point, tallying 11 points (4G, 7A) since the new year. Through 285 career AHL games, Phillips has scored 109 points (33G, 76A).
