By: Frankie Benvenuti | Published: January 8th 2026

The Manitoba Moose (16-12-2-0) seek a second straight win on Thursday night, when they take on the Milwaukee Admirals (14-14-2-1). The Moose scored a 4-1 win over the Abbotsford Canucks at Canada Life Centre on Friday, their sixth in their past 10 games. Milwaukee is coming off back-to-back losses to the Texas Stars, and 11 losses in their past 13 games.

Coverage of today's matchup gets going at 6:45 p.m. CT on CJOB.com, the Winnipeg Jets App and AHLTV on FloHockey. Action at UW-M Panther Arena begins at 7 p.m. CT.

Hit the Road, Moose

The Moose have enjoyed some home cooking of late, last playing an away game on Dec. 7. Manitoba’s next six games come in unfriendly territory, first making a stop in Milwaukee, before a pair of meetings with the Rockford IceHogs, split by a contest with the Chicago Wolves. The trip wraps up with two games against the Laval Rocket. In their 14 games away from Canada Life Centre, the Moose own an 8-5-1-0 record, and have victories in six of their past seven road games. Phil Di Giuseppe leads the Moose with 12 points (6G, 6A) away from home, with Brayden Yager and Walker Duehr trailing slightly behind, with 10 points respectively. The Moose own an even goal differential on the road, and have a 90.5 percent penalty kill, up 12.5 percent compared to their mark at home.

For Club and For Country

Moose captain Mason Shaw returned to the lineup on Friday evening, following a trip to Davos, Switzerland where he represented Canada at the Spengler Cup. The 27-year-old scored what stood up to be the game-winning goal in Canada’s opening game at the tournament, taking down the U.S. Collegiate Selects. In his first game back with the Moose, Shaw wasted little time, scoring just 6:22 into the first period against the Abbotsford Canucks. The Wainwright, Alta. native is tied for second on the Moose with 19 points (7G, 12A) through 29 games.

Looming are Milestones

Several Moose are in line to reach career milestones on the road. Samuel Fagemo and Mason Shaw are each just two games shy of their 300th career AHL contest, while Jaret Anderson-Dolan will skate in his 200th game in the league as early as Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Rockford. Dawson Barteaux is five games shy of 150 games. Both Isaak Phillips and Brad Lambert are one point away from 100 in their careers, after each of them registered an assist in Friday night’s win over the Abbotsford Canucks. Walker Duehr isn’t far behind, needing just three points to reach the century mark milestone.

Spreading the Wealth

Manitoba scored four goals in their win over Abbotsford on Friday night. Each goal featured a pair of assists, but no Moose recorded more than one point. Twelve players inked their names on the scoresheet for the home side, four of whom were defencemen, with three of the point-getters being 22 years old or younger. Manitoba features 11 skaters with at least 12 points on the season and 23 of the 26 skaters to appear in a game with the team have at least a point.

Who's Trending?

Parker Ford has the longest active point streak among Moose skaters, currently standing at three games. In that time, he has three points (1G, 2A), scoring the game-winning goal in Friday’s contest. Ford has eight points (2G, 6A) in his 15 games with Manitoba this season. Ford played 11 games with the Winnipeg Jets to start the season, tallying one assist.
