The Manitoba Moose (11-23-1-1) get back out on the road tonight (7 p.m. CT) when they face off against the Chicago Wolves (20-16-2-0) at Allstate Arena. The Moose have lost four straight following a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday. Manitoba has been red hot on the road, though, with points in five consecutive road games and wins in four straight. The Wolves are coming off a 3-2 overtime win in Rockford on Saturday and have three wins in their past five. Coverage of tonight's game gets started at 6:45 p.m. CT on CJOB.com/sports, the Winnipeg Jets App and AHLTV on FloHockey.

The Only Constant is Change

A few changes were made to Manitoba’s roster this week. The club saw forward Brad Lambert recalled to the Winnipeg Jets, netminder Thomas Milic reassigned to the team’s ECHL affiliate the Norfolk Admirals, and goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis reassigned to the Moose on the road. Lambert has 16 points (3G, 13A) with the club this season, leading the team in assists. He’s also skated in four games with the Jets. Milic has made 17 appearances with the Moose this season, posting a 4-10-2 record, and a .870 save percentage. DiVincentiis played five games with Manitoba to start the season, before being reassigned to Norfolk, in which he posted a 2-3-0 record and a .930 save percentage. He also owns a 15-5-0 record in the ECHL.

He Just Keeps Scoring

Parker Ford scored the lone goal for the Moose in Saturday’s contest against the Griffins. The Providence College alum has recorded 11 goals through the campaign, and seven in his past nine games. Ford’s seven tallies in January tie him for fifth in the AHL this month. The sophomore forward currently leads the Moose in goals, and is second on the team with 17 points (11G, 6A). Ford’s goal in Saturday’s matchup marks his third power play goal of the season; the most by any Manitoba skater. Ford remains one of two Moose players to have recorded both a power play and a shorthanded goal this season, alongside C.J. Suess.

On To The Second Half

Saturday’s contest marked the halfway point of the 2024-25 season for the Moose. The club currently holds a record of 11-23-1-1, combining to 24 points, after their first 36 matchups. In the season prior, Manitoba’s record at the halfway point stood at 12-23-1-0, giving them 25 points. To get back in the playoff picture, the Moose will need to emulate their 2023-24 second half. The Moose posted a record of 22-12-1-1 and succeeded in capturing the final playoff spot in the Central Division.

Tough to Beat

Kaapo Kähkönen made 24 stops on 26 shots in Saturday’s matchup against the Griffins. The Finnish goaltender has allowed two or less goals in four of his past five appearances with the Moose, including one shutout, while posting a 2-3-0 record supported by a 2.22 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. It’s evident that Kähkönen has all his wins this seasons against Manitoba’s divisional rivals. He is 5-3-0 against Central Division opponents this season, with a .908 save percentage and 2.61 goals-against average. That includes Kähkönen’s Moose debut, a 30-save victory in Chicago.

Who's Trending?

Jaret Anderson-Dolan recorded an assist in Saturday’s loss to the Griffins, and is currently riding a two-game point streak. This marks the second time he’s recorded points in back to back games this season. The Calgary, Alta. export has posted six points (2G, 4A) with the Moose this season while skating in 26 games with the club.
