Doing Damage
Walker Duehr moved into a tie with both Mason Shaw and David Gustafsson for the Moose lead with 20 points (10G, 10A) with a goal on Saturday night. The 28-year-old is the first Moose skater to reach double-digit goals in 2025-26. The shorthanded goal was Duehr’s second of the season, one off, matching his career high set during the 2024-25 campaign. Duehr has reached the 20-point mark in all four seasons in which he played at least 30 games. In six games against the Chicago Wolves, the Sioux Falls, N.D. native leads Manitoba skaters with six points (5G, 1A). Duehr picked up three points (2G, 1A) in the team’s previous meeting at Allstate Arena. In 175 career AHL games, Duehr has 98 points (52G, 46A).
Getting Stout
The Moose locked things down defensively on Saturday night, allowing a season-low 14 shots on goal in their shootout win over the Rockford IceHogs. The strong performance dropped their average shots allowed per game by 0.44, down to 27.75, good for 12th in the league. Manitoba has allowed 25 shots or fewer on 11 occasions in 2025-26, holding their opposition below 30 shots in 24 of their 32 contests thus far.
Close is Good
The Moose have enjoyed close games through 32 games this season, owning an 8-0-2-0 record in games decided by one goal. Manitoba and Chicago have played four such games already in 2025-26, in which the Moose hold a 3-0-1-0 record. While playing on the road, Manitoba has been involved in five one-goal games, posting a 4-01-0 record. Despite that record in one-goal games, the Moose have yet to record a win in overtime. Manitoba holds a pair of overtime losses and two shootout wins in four trips past regulation.
Ville The Kid
Defenceman Ville Heinola tallied the shootout winner in last night’s victory over Rockford. It was the second shootout goal of Heinola’s career, and first winner. The Honkajoki, Finland export previously scored once on four attempts during the 2023-24 season and had one additional attempt during the 2021-22 campaign. Heinola also racked a pair of assists during regulation, marking his fourth multi-point game of the season. The 2019 first round pick has 10 assists over his past 11 games and has 15 helpers on the season. Heinola leads the Moose in assists and is tied for 15th among all AHL defenders
