The Manitoba Moose (12-26-1-1) and Iowa Wild (15-26-2-1) go for another twirl this afternoon (1 p.m.) at Canada Life Centre. Iowa came away with a 3-1 win yesterday to snap a six-game losing streak. Dominic Toninato scored the lone Moose goal in the contest. Caedan Bankier and Travis Boyd each tallied a goal and an assist or Iowa.

The first 2,000 fans at today's game will receive a Moose bowl that looks pretty super. Tickets are available at moosehockey.com/tickets.

Rapid Fire

Parker Ford recorded eight shots on goal in Manitoba’s loss to Iowa on Saturday, setting a new career-high for the sophomore forward. Ford set his previous career-high earlier this season, registering seven shots in the club’s matchup against Grand Rapids on Oct. 19. He’s recorded five or more shots in six different appearances with the club this season, and ranks second on the team with 95 shots on goal. Ford previously co-lead the Moose with 172 shots as a rookie during the 2023-24 season. The Wakefield, R.I. native currently leads the Moose with 11 goals, converting on 11.6 percent of his shots.

They Don’t Ask How

Dominic Toninato’s odd deflection yesterday went down as his eighth goal of the season. The Moose captain is now tied for second in goals on the Moose roster alongside Mason Shaw, and is tied for sixth on the team with 13 points (8G, 5A). Toninato’s eight goals on the campaign so far surpass his 2023-24 season goal total of seven, which he recorded in 37 appearances with the Moose. The Duluth, Minn. product is one of two Moose skaters to have recorded a power play, shorthanded and game-winning goal this season.

Keeping The Net Clear

Domenic DiVincentiis made 33 saves in Saturday’s matchup, including 15 saves in the third period, matching a career high set on Oct. 13, also against the Iowa Wild. The rookie goaltender has allowed two or less goals in six of his eight appearances with the Moose, while registering a .922 overall save percentage. That mark ranks him fifth amongst AHL rookie netminders. DiVincentiis also made his mark in the ECHL with a 15-5-0 record for Manitoba’s ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

Another Road Series

Despite the club’s loss on Saturday, the Moose stand 2-1-0-0 in the season series against Iowa so far. The road team has come away with a win in all three games of Manitoba’s series against Iowa, with the Moose picking up two road wins in Iowa back in October. The visiting teams have outscored the home team 12-7 through the series. The same can be said for Manitoba’s season series against the Milwaukee Admirals. The Moose stand 3-2-0-0, having recorded all three wins at UWM Panther Arena, with the Admirals winning twice in Winnipeg.

Who's Trending?

Elias Salomonsson made his return to Canada Life Centre on Saturday afternoon, with the Swedish defender recording two shots on goal in his first home-ice action since Dec. 6. Salomonsson has recorded 12 points (3G, 9A) in 21 games with the Moose this season, and leads all Moose defenceman in points and is tied for the lead in goals.
