Return of the Jedi
The Moose added to a busy couple of weeks for transactions by recalling forward Chase Yoder from the organization’s ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, on Thursday evening. The 23-year-old has 29 points (17G, 12A) in 37 games with Norfolk this season, including 22 points (14G, 8A) over his past 19 outings. He also picked up one assist in eight games with the Moose to start the season. Yoder previously played five campaigns at Providence College, accumulating 62 points (32G, 30A) across a program-record 172 NCAA games. The Fairview, Texas native was a sixth round (170th overall) draft choice of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2020 NHL Draft.
No Help Needed
Manitoba scored a pair of unassisted goals in its 3-2 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday night. Isaak Phillips and Phil Di Giuseppe got the markers. It’s the ninth time the Moose have scored an unassisted goal this season, with Phillips and Samuel Fagemo leading the team in the category with two each. Manitoba’s other marker came off the stick of Fagemo, with the lone assist going to Jaret Anderson-Dolan. Six of Manitoba’s past nine goals have come with one assist or fewer, bringing their season total to 25 such goals, making up 20.3 percent of their offensive output in 2025-26.
SHG for PDG
Phil Di Giuseppe’s shorthanded overtime winner on Wednesday night in Grand Rapids was Manitoba’s league-leading ninth shorty of the season. They currently share the distinction with the Bakersfield Condors. Di Giuseppe’s shorthanded marker was his third of the season, moving him into a tie for the Moose lead, and even with seven others, including teammate Walker Duehr, for third in the league. He is among seven players on the Moose with multiple power play points, once again tied for the team lead with Duehr with four points (3G, 1A).
Next Man Up
Manitoba was down eight regulars for their matchup with the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday night. Five players who have spent time with the Moose this season are on recall with the Winnipeg Jets (Duehr, Clague, Salomonsson, Heinola, and DiVincentiis), while Tyrel Bauer (suspension) and David Gustafsson and Colby Barlow (injury) were unavailable. Prior to puck drop, the Moose defence had combined for 112 games this season. Ben Zloty and Dylan Moulton, who signed a PTO with Manitoba earlier in the week, made their season debuts. Ashton Sautner and Isaak Phillips combined to account for 74.1 percent of those games played. Going into Wednesday, seven skaters in the Moose lineup had played 20 or fewer games in the AHL this season.
Who’s Trending?
Samuel Fagemo scored Manitoba’s first goal in their overtime win over Grand Rapids on Wednesday, his 14th of the season. The Gothenburg, Sweden native tied Mason Shaw for the team lead in goals, bringing his point total on the season to 24 points (14G, 10A). He is one of four players to suit up in every game for the Moose thus far in 2025-26.
