The Manitoba Moose (16-29-1-1) reach the halfway point of their Eastern Canada road swing with a matchup against the Toronto Marlies (27-14-2-6) this afternoon (3 p.m. CT). The Moose picked up a split against the Laval Rocket with a 5-4 win and 5-1 loss in Quebec. The Marlies are coming off a 1-0 shootout defeat in Rochester. Coverage of today's game begins at 2:45 p.m. CT on cjob.com, the Winnipeg Jets App and AHLTV on FloHockey with puck drop at 3 p.m. CT on 680 CJOB.

One on the Board

Carson Golder picked up his first point of the season, an assist, on Friday. Golder skated in his third game of the season with the Moose while earning the point. The Smithers, B.C. export has eight points (2G, 6A) in 18 career games with the Moose. Golder has been productive in the ECHL this season, tallying up 30 points (16G, 14A) in 37 games with the Norfolk Admirals.

Season-High

Coming off a two-assist night on Wednesday, Brad Lambert led the Moose with a personal season-high six shots on goal Friday. Lambert previously recorded five shots on goal Nov. 1 and Dec. 10. The 2022 first round pick’s career high is seven shots, which he tallied three times during the 2023-24 campaign. In a statistical quirk, Lambert doesn’t have any points when posting five or more shots. However, the Lahti, Finland product has nine points (2G, 7A) in the eight games he tallied four shots on goal.

Ontario-Bound

The Moose roster features two players hailing from Ontario. Goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis is from Bolton, while Isaak Phillips is billed out of Barrie. The pair also played their junior hockey in the OHL with DiVincentiis playing 117 games for the North Bay Battalion and Phillips appearing in 131 games with the Sudbury Wolves. Forward Danny Zhilkin is Russian by birth, but played his minor hockey with the Toronto Marlboros. Zhilkin went on to play his OHL hockey with the Guelph Storm and Kitchener Rangers. While forward Ryan Chyzowski is from Kamloops, B.C., Chyzowski began his AHL career as a member of the Marlies. He posted eight points (7G, 1A) in 59 AHL games with Toronto.

Busy Schedule

The Moose are in their busiest stretch of the season, going through a run of 15 games with no more than two days between games. Five games are in back-to-back situations,  six contests are on one day of rest and four are on two days of rest. Dominic Toninato paces the Moose with eight points (3G, 5A) in games with no days or rest. Brad Lambert, Mason Shaw and Jaret Anderson-Dolan each have seven points with one day of rest. Parker Ford, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby and Dylan Anhorn all have five points on two days of rest. Manitoba’s contest in Laval on Friday marked the midway point of that stretch. The Moose hold a 4-3-0-0 record through the first seven games that started with a 7-4 win over Iowa on Feb. 9.

Who's Trending?

Simon Lundmark struck for his third goal of the season on Friday. The marker gives Lundmark points in consecutive games for the first time this season. The goal also pushed the Stockholm, Sweden product to 60 points (15G, 45A) in his AHL career. This season, Lundmark has 12 points  (3G, 9A) in 43 games, just two goals five points off matching his career high.
