Fast Facts: Moose at Laval – Feb. 19

The Manitoba Moose (15-28-1-1) begin a six-game trek through Eastern Canada tonight (6 p.m. CT) with a matchup against the Laval Rocket (31-13-2-1). The Moose are coming off a six-game homestand that saw the club post a 3-3-0-0 record, but fall 5-1 to Milwaukee in the finale. The league-leading Rocket are 8-2-0-0 their past 10 games, but fell 7-2 in Toronto on Sunday. Driving the Offence

Dylan Coghlan recorded an assist during Monday’s game against the Admirals. The defenceman has recorded nine points (5G, 4A) through his past five outings with the Moose, and 12 points (7G, 5A) in 15 games with the club this season. His current five-game point streak is tied for the longest point streak recorded by a Moose defenceman this season, matching the previous mark set by Dylan Anhorn from Dec. 31 to Jan. 10. Coghlan is second among all Manitoba defenders in points this season, and his 0.80 points per game lead all Moose skaters.

Century Mark

Ben King’s heads into this evening’s action with 99 career AHL games under his belt. The sophomore forward has recorded 46 points (24G, 22A) in those 99 appearances, and 16 points (9G, 7A) in 38 games with the Moose this season. He is currently third on the Moose in goals. He’s also seventh among Manitoba skaters in points. King previously spent his rookie season as a member of the San Diego Gulls, where he posted 30 points (15G, 15A) in 61 games with the club.

Double-Digits

Jaret Anderson-Dolan recorded his third goal of the season against the Admirals on Monday, and is currently riding a two game point streak. This marks the third time this season Anderson-Dolan recorded points in back-to-back games. The Calgary, Alta. product has recorded 10 points (3G, 7A) in 35 appearances with the Moose this season. He’s ninth among Manitoba forwards in scoring. Anderson-Dolan previously registered a career-high of 47 points (24G, 23A) in 54 games as a member of the Ontario Reign during the 2021-22 season.

Roster Shuffle

Manitoba saw a few changes to the roster on Tuesday afternoon. Goaltender Kaapo Kähkönen was called up by the Winnnipeg Jets as a practice player, as allowed under NHL Four Nations Face-Off rules. Additionally, the Jets re-assigned netminder Thomas Milic to the Moose from the club’s ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. The Moose recalled forward Ryan Chyzowski from the Admirals as well. Kähkönen has appeared in 20 games with the Moose this season, with a 6-13-1 record. Prior to being re-assigned to the Admirals, Milic appeared in 17 contests with the Moose this season, and holds a 4-10-2 record. Chyzowski previously made his Moose debut on Jan. 29 against the Chicago Wolves, and has appeared in three games with the club.

Carson Golder skated his first AHL game of the season on Monday, and co-led the Moose with three shots on goal in the outing. Golder has posted 30 points (16G, 14A) in 37 games with the organization’s ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, this season. The Smithers, B.C. product has registered seven points (2G, 5A) in 16 career games with the Moose.
