Fast Facts: Moose vs. Calgary – Feb. 16

The Manitoba Moose (23-17-3-0) are back in action against the Calgary Wranglers (16-20-10-2) on Monday afternoon.  The Moose are coming off a 5-1 victory over the Wranglers on Saturday, their sixth win in their past 10 outings. They have won four consecutive games on home ice. Calgary’s loss was its sixth in a row. The Wranglers are 1-6-3-0 in their past 10 games.

The Streaks Live

It took until the third period of Saturday afternoon’s contest, but both Mason Shaw and Walker Duehr extended their point streaks to eight and seven games, respectively. Duehr’s shorthanded marker – with an assist going to Shaw – was the former Wranglers forward’s 12th goal of the season, the third-highest total on the season. Duehr is up to 26 points (12G, 14A) through 38 games, and is tied with David Gustafsson for second on the team with 0.68 points-per-game. Shaw continues to head up the Moose with 31 points (15G, 16A) through 42 games, also leading the way with 0.74 points-per-game. His streak is also tied for the longest active point streak in the AHL.

We Three (Former) Kings

Samuel Fagemo scored his second goal of the game, 9:49 into the second period, on Saturday afternoon. Assists on the goal went to Kale Clague and Jaret Anderson-Dolan, all three of whom were drafted by the Los Angeles Kings. The three were teammates in the Kings organization in 2021-22. All three were second round draft choices, with Calgue going 51st overall in 2016, Anderson-Dolan going 41st overall in 2017, and Fagemo being selected 50th overall two years later in 2019. The trio has combined to score 499 points (231G, 268A) in 815 contests. In their Moose careers, they have combined for 80 points (35G, 45A) in 178 games.

Zhilkin’s Motor Keeps Spinning

With a goal and an assist on Saturday afternoon, Danny Zhilkin reached 17 points (9G, 8A) through 37 games this season. The figure matches his career contributions predating the 2025-26 season, recording 17 career points (5G, 12A) in his first 97 games in the AHL across two seasons. Saturday’s effort was also his fourth multi-point game of the season, bringing him to five such games in his career. A third of his goals this season (3G), have been game-winners. The Moscow, Russia native was a third round pick by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2022 NHL draft, and made his NHL debut on Jan. 8 vs the Edmonton Oilers.

Home’s Where the Heart Is

Manitoba’s win on Valentine’s Day marked the team’s fourth consecutive home victory. It’s the first time the Moose won four straight at Canada Life Centre since March 29 – April 13, 2024. Manitoba’s previous five game run on home ice came Nov. 27/21-Jan. 2/22, as part of an eight-game point streak in Winnipeg. The Moose have allowed just five goals over their current streak, surrendering just one goal in three straight home outings. Manitoba has allowed two goals or less in six consecutive home games, posting a 5-1-0 record since the calendar flipped to 2026.

Who’s Trending?

Nikita Chibrikov picked up an assist in Saturday’s win over Calgary. The helper gives Chribrikov assists in consecutive games and three in his past five games. The Moscow, Russia product has points in four of his past eight games to bring his total to six points (2G, 4A) on the season. Chibrikov was a second round draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2021.
