The Manitoba Moose (12-24-1-1) put the finishing touches on their pre-All-Star schedule tonight (7 p.m. CT) when they clash with the Chicago Wolves (22-16-2-0). It's the second meeting of the week between the two rivals. Chicago claimed the first matchup by a 3-1 score. The Moose rebounded from that defeat with a 3-2 in in Milwaukee last night. A Key Cog in the Machine

Dylan Coghlan skated in his 200th AHL game Friday night against the Admirals and recorded his 46th career goal in the effort. The Duncan, B.C. product has three points (2G, 1A) in eight appearances with the Moose this season. He previously spent time with the Springfield Thunderbirds (61GP) and the Chicago Wolves (131GP), and has registered 111 points (46G, 65A) through his 200-game career. Coghlan co-led all AHL defenceman in goals in 2023-24 with a career-high 16 tallies, alongside a career-high 41 points. He also led all AHL rookie defencemen with 15 goals as a member of the Wolves in 2018-19.

Welcome Back

Domenic DiVincentiis got the start for Manitoba against the Admirals on Friday, seeing his first AHL action since Nov. 9. The Bolton, Ont. native holds a 3-3-0 record on the campaign, picking up his third win of the season in his return to the lineup. The rookie goaltender has allowed two or less goals in five of his six appearances with the Moose. DiVincentiis previously recorded a 37-save performance in his AHL debut with the Moose on Oct. 13, which stands as the most saves made by a Moose goaltender in a single game this season.

Shorthanded? No Problem

Dominic Toninato scored his seventh goal of the season, shorthanded, against the Admirals. The Moose captain becomes the fifth Moose skater to record a shorthanded tally this season, alongside Parker Ford, C.J. Suess, Dylan Anhorn and Axel Jonsson-Fjällby. The Moose are tied for seventh in the AHL with six shorthanded goals. It also marked the 10th shorthanded goal of Toninato’s AHL career. The Duluth, Minn. export has tallied 12 points (7G, 5A) in 28 games with the Moose this season. Toninato’s seven goals on the campaign match his 2023-24 total, reaching the mark in nine less games.

That’s Another Winner

Mason Shaw recorded his eighth goal of the season last night. The tally marks his second game-winning goal on the campaign, making him one of two Manitoba skaters to record multiple game-winners this season, alongside captain Dominic Toninato. Shaw’s eight goals also lead all active Moose skaters, and rank second overall. The Wainwright, Alta. product has registered 17 points (8G, 9A) so far this season, tying him for second on the Moose leaderboard. Shaw is also one of just two Manitoba skaters to have appeared in each of the team’s first 38 matchups, alongside Axel Jonsson-Fjällby.

Fabian Wagner picked up an assist in Friday night’s contest against the Admirals. The assist marks Wagner’s second point in the AHL, and second point recorded in Milwaukee, having previously recorded his first AHL point with an overtime assist on Jan. 8/25. The Swedish forward has skated in 19 games with the Moose this season.
