But I Get Up Again

After facing a tough loss to Calgary on Friday night, the Moose are looking to bounce back. The club has been successful in bouncing back with a win after their past three losses, recording half of their six wins this season in the second of a two-game set. Each of these three bounce-back wins has featured a goal from Moose captain Dominic Toninato, as well at least one assist from Axel Jonsson-Fjällby. Toninato currently leads the club with two game-winning goals, both of which were scored in games following a loss.

How Swede It Is

Elias Salomonsson recorded an assist on the power play in Friday night’s action, and currently leads the club with seven points (2G, 5A) on the power play this season. The Moose have scored a total of eight power play goals in the campaign, and Salomonsson has factored in on all but one of them. The Skellefteå, Sweden product is tied for third among all AHL rookie defencemen in power play points, and leads all Swedish defenders in the league in power play points. His three goals also lead all Swedish defenders in goals.

Get This Lambo Running

Brad Lambert has recorded three points (2G, 1A) through his past two games. This marks the third time this season that he has recorded points in back-to-back games. The Lahti, Finland product has recorded 10 points (3G, 7A) in the campaign so far, and nine of those were accumulated in sets of consecutive games. He previously recorded points in back-to-back games 19 times throughout his rookie season in 2023-24, including a career-high seven game point streak. Lambert is currently tied for second amongst Moose skaters in points, alongside Elias Salomonsson.

Three’s Good, More is Better

The Moose have averaged 2.44 goals scored per game through their first 16 matchups. This makes three goals a very important number for the Moose this season, as the club is currently 6-1-0-0 when scoring at least three goals in a game. During the 2023-24 campaign, only two of Manitoba’s 34 wins saw the club score less than three goals. The season prior, the club recorded 37 wins, with just four in which they scored two or less goals.

Who's Trending?

Nikita Chibrikov scored the lone goal for Manitoba during Friday night’s action. The tally broke Chibrikov out of an eight-game goal drought. The Russian winger currently leads the Moose with 12 points (4G, 8A). His four goals are tied alongside Tyson Empey for second on the team. Chibrikov scored 17 goals in 70 games during the 2023-24 season.
