The Manitoba Moose (23-36-2-3) begin a six-game homestand against the Laval Rocket (42-17-3-1) this evening. Puck drop at Canada Life Centre is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. The Moose finished a week-long road trip with a 1-2-0-0 record following a 5-2 loss in Rockford on Saturday. The Rocket dropped their previous outing by a 3-1 score to Lehigh Valley, but hold an 8-2-0-0 record the past 10 games.

Leading the Way
Mason Shaw racked up 12 points (5G, 7A) in 14 games during the month of March. It’s the most points tallied by a Moose player in a single month this season. The productive month helped Shaw take over the Moose scoring lead with 34 points (15G, 19A) on the campaign. The mark is the Wainwright, Alta. product’s second-highest career mark, surpassing his rookie season of 33 points (8G, 25A) in 76 points. Saturday’s game saw the Minnesota 2017 fourth round pick clear 100 penalty minutes for the second time in his career. He is one of five players, including Laval’s Florian Xhekaj, to post at least 30 points and 100 penalty minutes.
Toni-Time
Dominic Toninato grabbed the team goal-scoring lead on Saturday with his 16th strike of the season. The Moose captain is up to 31 points (16G, 15A) in 54 games which places him just three goals, one assist and four points shy of matching his career-high marks from the 2022-23 season. Toninato comes into today’s action with 249 games played to his credit, featuring 139 points (71G, 68A) in those contests. He has appeared in 146 of those games with the Moose.
Helping Out
Saturday’s game saw Reece Vitelli picked up his third assist in eight games since joining the Moose lineup March 15 in Iowa. Vitelli now has points in back-to-back games with a pair of helpers over the weekend. It’s the first time the Winnipeg, Man. product has recorded points in consecutive games in his 29-game AHL career. Vitelli’s three assists represent a new career high in points for the winger. It’s also been a career-season for Vitelli in the ECHL where he racked up 52 points (12G, 40A) in 57 games with the Savannah Ghost Pirates.
Roster Moves
The Winnipeg Jets announced yesterday the team recalled forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan and goaltender Chris Driedger from the Moose. Anderson-Dolan has 19 points (7G, 12A) in 51 games with Manitoba this season. Driedger holds an 11-9-4 record with a 3.03 goals-against average and .877 save percentage split between the Moose (five appearances) and Charlotte Checkers (20 appearances). The Jets also reassigned goaltender Thomas Milic to the Moose from the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals. Milic was named the ECHL goaltender of the month yesterday. He holds an 11-5-2 record supported by a 1.82 goals-against average and .935 save percentage to go with three shutouts with Norfolk this season. The Coquitlam, B.C. native is 5-10-2 in the AHL this season.

Brad Lambert scored his fifth goal of the season on Saturday. The tally gives Lambert points in back-to-back games and puts him on the scoresheet in four of the past five outings. The Lahti, Finland product recorded eight points (1G, 7A) during the month of March, tied for fourth on the Moose. Overall, Lambert is second on the team with 33 points (5G, 28A).
