Do It Like Duehr

Walker Duehr has returned to the Moose with a bang, recording three points (2G, 1A) in his first two games with the club in 2026-27. The Sioux Falls, S.D. native scored both of Manitoba’s goals on Friday night, including the overtime winner. Though the attempt was unsuccessful, he was also awarded Manitoba’s first penalty shot since March 8/25. Duehr is in his second season in antlers, and posted 34 points (17G, 17A) in 62 games in 2025-26. The winger has 207 games of AHL experience, tallying 115 points (61G, 54A) to go along with his 21 points (11G, 10A) in 95 games in the NHL. Duehr’s two goals this season come on three shots on goal.

No Time Wasted

Manitoba has made quick work of its two overtime appearances thus far this season. The Moose have scored two winners in extra time, needing only two shots on goal and 2:21 of game time to find them. Brayden Yager tallied the first overtime winner of the season on Oct. 18, when the Moose downed the Texas Stars 4-3. Walker Duehr struck on Friday night just 29 seconds into the sudden-death period, powering the club to a 2-1 win over the Toronto Marlies. The pair of wins in the three-on-three period already matches Manitoba’s total from 2025-26.

Home Sweet Home

The Moose continued their winning ways on home ice Friday night, improving to 5-0-0-0 at Canada Life Centre. Manitoba joins the Abbotsford Canucks (5-0-0-0) as the only team in the AHL with a perfect record at home in 2026-27. The Moose claimed their fifth home victory on Nov. 30 a season ago, coming in their 10th home game. In each of their past four games at Canada Life Centre, the antlered ones have had a player score two goals in a game (Walker Duehr – Nov. 6, Nikita Chibrikov – Oct. 18, Brayden Yager – Oct. 16, Oct. 4). Manitoba is currently sixth in the league with 29 home goals.

Pretty Kewl PK

The Moose roll into Saturday’s action with the league’s 14th-ranked penalty kill, having killed off their past 10 minors successfully. Manitoba has been shorthanded 60 times through the first game of November, allowing 10 goals in that stretch (83.3 percent). The penalty killers have countered with six shorthanded tallies, tied for the most in the league with the Springfield Thunderbirds. On home ice, the PK has been even better, currently operating at 89.5 percent, the fifth-best mark in the AHL. They have surrendered just two goals on their 19 man-down scenarios.

Who’s Trending?

Isaak Phillips stayed hot on Friday night, picking up another assist to push his season total to seven points (1G, 6A) through 13 contests. The Barrie, Ont. native has all of his points in his past 10 games. The defender has recorded three points (1G, 2A) over his past four games. Phillips leads the Moose, and is tied for first in the AHL, with a plus-10 rating.
