Feels Like 1988

The Moose tied a piece of AHL history on Friday night, scoring four shorthanded goals in a 6-3 victory over the Rockford IceHogs at
BMO Center. The record was first achieved by the Fredericton Express on Feb. 9, 1988, before the Halifax Citadels followed the next season on Oct. 16, 1988. Four different players chipped in a shorthanded marker for the Moose. Noah Gregor got the first in the opening frame, before Brayden Yager, Isaak Phillips, and Danny Zhilkin added three more in the third frame. Manitoba stands alone at the top of the AHL with six shorthanded goals. Henry Thrun and Parker Ford each have a shorthanded tally this season.

The Only Constant is Change

The Winnipeg Jets loaned defenceman Garrett Brown and forward Brad Lambert to the Moose on Wednesday. Brown, a San Jose, Calif. native signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Jets following his season with the University of Denver Pioneers in 2025-26, and joined the Moose on an amateur tryout contract. He recorded 12 points (2G, 10A) and 12 penalty minutes at Denver a season ago, and played in four Calder Cup playoff games in antlers. Lambert began the season with the Jets, playing 11 games, recording an assist. The Lahti, Finland native is entering his fifth season in the AHL, having played 173 games in antlers. Lambert has tallied 106 points (36G, 70A) with the Moose, including a career-high 55 points (21G, 34A) in 64 games in 2023-24.

Yager Bombs

The Winnipeg Jets recalled forward Brayden Yager from the Moose on Thursday morning. It marks the Saskatoon, Sask. native’s second call-up of the season. Yager is tied for second on the Moose with 12 points (7G, 5A) through his 10 games with the club, and leads the team in goals. He owns a team-high 28 percent shooting percentage, and is tied for fourth-best on the Moose with a plus-four rating. Yager has recorded 42 points (17G, 25A) in 78 games across a pair of seasons with Manitoba. He has four games of NHL experience.

4-and-h0me

The Moose return home for the first time since Oct. 18, boasting a 4-0-0-0 record to open the season in the familiar confines of Canada Life Centre. The Moose have outscored their opposition 22-10 through four home games, and have their power play operating at 54.6 percent. All but three active Moose skaters have a point on home ice this season, while seven players have at least a point-per-game. Brayden Yager (on recall) and Nikita Chibrikov have each scored eight points in four games.

Who’s Trending?

Chase Yoder set a new career high in goals, and tied his career-best mark in points with a two-point game on Friday night in Rockford. It was his first multi-point game in the AHL, and sixth as a pro. The Fairview, Texas native has four points (3G, 1A) through 12 games and owns a plus-five rating. Yoder has eight points
(5G, 3A) through 35 career games.
