Offensive Catalyst

Forward Brayden Yager returned to the Moose lineup Saturday after being loaned to the club by the Winnipeg Jets. Yager wasted no time in extending his point streak to four games, scoring 4:28 into the contest. He added an assist in the third period to mark his third consecutive multi-point game. The Saskatoon, Sask. product has eight points (4G, 4A) over his past four games, and his six goals in seven games are tied for seventh in the AHL. Yager has five assists on the season, all of which are primary helpers. Manitoba holds a 5-0-0-0 record this season in games Yager records at least a point.

Chasing Legends

The Moose can match the franchise’s best 10-game start with a win this morning. Manitoba has already at least tied the team’s second-best start (2005-06) by winning seven of nine games for the third time in franchise history. Currently, the only team to win eight of 10 games is the 2008-09 edition of the Moose. That group went on to win a franchise record 50 games in the regular season and went all the way to the Calder Cup Final. Jason Krog led the Moose with 86 points (30G, 56A) in 74 games, a 1.16 points per game pace. The 2026-27 edition of the team currently features three players with at least a 1.11 points per game average.

Streakin’

Defenceman Henry Thrun continues to rack up points early in his time with the Moose. Thrun enters this morning’s action with points in six consecutive games, posting six points (1G, 5A) in that span. The Southborough, Mass. native is tied for sixth in scoring among AHL defencemen with seven points (1G, 6A) in nine games. Thrun is one of just four blueliners to score a shorthanded goal this season. The defender is currently operating with a 0.78 points-per-game average, well clear of the 0.42 points-per-game he recorded during the 2025-26 campaign, his first full AHL season. Thrun spent the bulk of his first two professional seasons in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks.

New Additions

With the Winnipeg Jets recalling defenceman Elias Salomonsson, the Moose made an addition to their defence on Sunday. The team inked Jack Matier to a professional tryout agreement. Matier posted four assists in his first three games with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. product has 15 points (2G, 13A) in 81 career AHL outings, all with the Milwaukee Admirals. The 2021 fourth round pick (124th overall) of the Nashville Predators also holds 28 points
(8G, 20A) in 80 ECHL games split between the Atlanta Gladiators and Fort Wayne.

Who’s Trending?

Lucas Wahlin scored his third goal of the season on Saturday in Iowa. The rookie forward finished the game tied for a game-high five shots on goal and logged a plus-one rating. Wahlin has seven points (3G, 4A) in nine games this season, giving him 10 points (4G, 6A) in his first 15 games of his AHL career going back to the 2025-26 season.
