He Makes Some History
Kevin He made his AHL debut on Satuday afternoon, becoming the first China-born player to skate in an American Hockey League game. The Beijing native recorded a pair of points (1G, 1A). Elias Salomonsson in 2024-25 was the last player to record two points in their AHL debut (1G, 1A). Kevin He combined with Jacob Julien and Colby Barlow on the power play to give the Moose a 2-0 lead midway through the third period, recording his first AHL point. Later in the same frame, He slid home his first career goal into an empty net en route to a 3-0 victory. He was the owner of a plus-one rating, and tallied three shots on goal.
Barlow and a Hot Start
Colby Barlow helped the Moose get out to a 1-0-0-0 start with a pair of points (1G, 1A) on Saturday. The Orillia, Ont. native scored his first goal of the season midway through the third period, before assisting on Kevin He’s empty netter in the final two minutes. A first round draft choice of the Winnipeg Jets in 2023, Barlow is coming off a 16-point (8G, 8A) rookie season in 2025-26. It’s Barlow’s second consecutive regular season game recording two points dating back to the 2025-26 season. The winger has recorded six points (5G, 1A) over his past five regular season contests.
Door Slammer DiVo
Domenic DiVincentiis slammed the door on the Wolves on Saturday afternoon, turning aside 36 shots in his fourth career shutout, and second against Chicago. It is the first shutout in a Moose season opener in team history, and the first shutout in a home opener since Michail Berdin blanked the Grand Rapids Griffins on Oct. 22/21, stopping 22 shots. DiVincentiis has been on fire in his past six appearances including the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs, backstopping the Moose to four wins. He owns a .964 save percentage in that time, and holds 1.19 goals against average. DiVincentiis was a seventh round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2022.
Celebrating in Style
Noah Gregor played his 400th professional game Saturday afternoon, skating in his 70th AHL game. The remaining 330 games have all come in the NHL, split between four different organizations. Gregor celebrated in style, scoring what became the game-winning goal midway through the first period, tallying his 58th career AHL point (26G, 32A). The Beaumont, Alta. native signed with the Winnipeg Jets in the summer, fresh off a 26-game stint with the Charlotte Checkers, where he recorded 17 points (11G, 6A). Gregor also posted nine points (4G, 5A) in 37 games with the Florida Panthers.
Who’s Trending?
Henry Thrun didn’t waste any time finding the scoresheet in his Moose debut. The defender picked up an assist on Noah Gregor’s opening tally for his first point in antlers. Thrun posted a career-high 23 points (5G, 18A) in 55 games with the Toronto Marlies in 2025-26, before tallying nine points (2G, 7A) in 24 playoff contests on the way to a Calder Cup victory.
