Cleared for Takeoff
The Winnipeg Jets recalled forwards Nikita Chibrikov and Brayden Yager from the Moose on Sunday morning. Yager made his NHL debut Tuesday night against Vegas. Chibrikov has 16 points (6G, 10A) in 53 games with the Moose this season. He has also appeared in 10 games with the Jets. The Moscow, Russia product holds four points (3G, 1A) in 15 career NHL outings. Chibrikov has 81 points (30G, 51A) in 153 career AHL games. Chibrikov was the Jets’ second round pick (50th overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft. Yager has 30 points (10G, 20A) in 68 games with the Moose this season, his first in the professional ranks. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan product ranks seventh on the Moose in scoring. Yager leads the team with seven power play assists and sits second with 10 power play points. He was a first round pick, 14th overall, of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Shout Out Sweden
Samuel Fagemo picked a good time for his third multi-goal game of the season, scoring a go-ahead goal in the third before potting the game-winner in overtime on Sunday. The Gothenburg, Sweden native leads the Moose with 19 goals through 69 games, bringing him to 35 points (19G, 16A). With three games remaining on the schedule, Fagemo is tied for second on the team in points. He leads the club with six power play goals and four game-winning goals. Fagemo also has seven ‘first goals,’ the most on the team. The winger’s two goals on Sunday pushed him past 150 in his AHL career, which began in 2020-21 as a member of the Ontario Reign. Fagemo is the only player in the AHL to record over 150 goals since joining the league.
Salt and Pepper
The Moose peppered Remi Poirier for 42 shots on Sunday, tying their fourth-best mark of the campaign. It marks the fifth time they’ve recorded more than 40 shots on goal. Manitoba holds a 3-2-0-0 record when recording more than 40 shots, with two of those wins coming away from home. The Moose have allowed 40 shots twice this season, while holding their opposition to 20 or fewer shots on four occasions.
One Trip, Three Games
The Moose hit the road for three games this week, meeting the Chicago Wolves before a pair of matchups with the Iowa Wild to close out the regular season. Manitoba currently occupies the fourth spot in the Central Division with a 34-29-5-1 record and 74 points. They are two points back of Texas in third, and three points up on Milwaukee for fifth. The Moose come into the week needing three points to lock up home ice in the First Round, but could still supplant Texas and finish as high as third, earning a bye to the Division Semifinals.

Kale Clague was a big piece in Manitoba’s overtime victory against Texas on Sunday, recording a pair of assists. The Regina, Sask. native has scored 27 points (9G, 18A) through 67 games in antlers this season, including one power play goal, and one game-winner. Clague is one goal away from matching his career high in the category, a mark he set last season.
