Fast Facts: Moose vs Toronto – March 6

The Manitoba Moose (24-19-5-1) return home to face the Toronto Marlies (26-18-4-5) on Friday night. The Moose fell 4-3 to the Milwaukee Admirals in overtime on Sunday. They are 3-4-2-1 in their past 10 games. Toronto downed the Cleveland Monsters 7-4 on Wednesday. They are 5-3-0-2 in their past 10 contests.

Tryout Season

The Moose inked defenceman Sean Larochelle to an amateur tryout agreement. The Varennes, Que. native has spent the past four season with the Concordia University Stingers in USPORTS, amassing 74 points (22G, 52A) in 102 contests. He was named to the OUA East Second All-Star team in 2024-25 and 2025-26. He helped Concordia capture the OUA Championship and a silver medal at the University Cup national championship in 2024-25. Larochelle previously played 207 games, recording 108 points (25G, 83A) with the QMJHL’s Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Victoriaville Tigres. He captured a QMJHL title with Victoriaville in 2021.

Mason Shaw continues to pace the Moose with 33 points (14G, 19A) this season, just ahead of David Gustafsson (0.68 Pt/G) and Walker Duehr (0.67 Pt/G) with 0.69 points per game. Manitoba’s captain was on a nine-game point streak that lasted nearly a month between Jan. 17 and Feb. 16, in which time he scored 10 points (5G, 5A). Shaw picked up an assist in Manitoba’s most recent game on March 1. The Wainwright, Alta. product continues to close in on 200 career points, currently sitting with 191 points (74G, 117A) through 317 contests between the Moose and Iowa Wild.

Keep the Puck

Defenceman Dylan Moulton notched the first goal of his AHL career on Sunday. Moulton achieved the milestone in his third career game, tallying the goal on his third career shot. He is the second Moose skater to score their first AHL goal this season after Brayden Yager notched his just 2:32 into the season. Moulton signed a professional tryout with the Moose the previous week, after picking up 11 points (2G, 9A) in 41 games with the Toledo Walleye. 

1,500 Rips

The Moose eclipsed the 1500 shot mark for the season on Sunday in Milwaukee, sending 38 shots on target to bring their season total to 1,502. Through 49 games on the campaign, Manitoba has allowed 1,365 shots on goal. Four Moose are over 100 shots this season, with Phil Di Giuseppe leading the way at 135. Samuel Fagemo (107), Mason Shaw (103), and Kale Clague (101) round out the list. Isaak Phillips is on the bubble with 99 shots on the campaign. Jaret Anderson-Dolan is the active leader for the Moose with a 14.3 percent shooting percentage among players who have played at least 10 games this season. 

Brayden Yager had a successful trip to Milwaukee, scoring a pair of points (1G, 1A) over the two-game series. The rookie forward has registered 19 points (7G, 12A) through the first 49 games of his professional career. Yager was a first round pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2023, before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets in August of 2024.
