The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation
The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation was created in October of 1996, as the charitable arm of the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club. The Yearling Foundation is a non-profit organization, which raises money year round and donates these funds to registered children's charities in Manitoba. The funds for the 2009-10 season were raised through the following Yearling Foundation events:
- Flatlander's Beer Festival
- The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation Gala Dinner
- Mystery Boxes
- Centre Stage Online Auction
- Ranger Insurance Charity Golf Classic
- 50-50 draws at Manitoba Moose home games
Since its inception, the Yearling Foundation has raised and disbursed over 2.3 million dollars! This past year the Yearling Foundation donated over $202,000 to the following 11 children's charities.

- Special Olympics Manitoba -- $30,430
- Little Moose Youth Hockey Program -- $30,000
- The Movement Centre of Manitoba -- $12,000
Blue Line Recipients
- Child Find Manitoba -- $10,000
- Rossbrook House -- $7,000
- Children's Hospital -- $2,500
- Curry BizCamp in Entrepreneurship -- $1,500
- Luc Bourdon Scholarship -- $1,000
- Neutropenia Support Association - $1,000
- Miscellaneous Charities - $6,500
The Yearling Foundation operates under the direction of Executive Director, Trish Brown, and in partnership with a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors headed by Chairperson George Sigurdson, Vice Chairperson John Olfert, Treasurer Robert Thorsten, Legal Counsel Brian Lerner, and board members Kevin Neiles, Deb Kocen, Norva Riddell, Blake Fitzpatrick, and Laurie Finley.
