Match Up

Moose vs. IceHogs:

Saturday night's game is the last clash of the regular season between the Moose and IceHogs. After earning a 6-1 victory over the IceHogs on Friday night, the Moose hold a perfect 3-0-0-0 record against the Chicago Blackhawks' affiliate this season. Historically, Manitoba is 6-3-0-2 against Rockford (2-2-0-1 on home ice). Peter Olvecky leads all Moose skaters with nine points against the IceHogs after eight games played while Cory Schneider has appeared in three wins for Manitoba this season.

Moose Sport Military Look:

For the last time this season, Manitoba will wear an alternate jersey when they host the fifth annual Military Appreciation Night. Saturday night's military inspired jersey pays tribute to the men and women who are part of the Canadian Forces. So far this season, the Moose are 0-2-0-0 when wearing an alternate sweater. They dropped a 6-2 decision to the Milwaukee Admirals while wearing a replica Team Canada jersey on January 16, 2010 before being defeated 2-1 by the Toronto Marlies when donning East St. Paul Aces jerseys as part of Hockey Night in Manitoba on February 13, 2010. Last season the club held a 2-0-0-1 record when wearing a second jersey.

Neck-and-Neck in the North:

With 13 games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Moose are vying for those last 26 points to secure a spot in the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs. Currently the Moose are in fourth place with 72 points after 67 games played. They are behind the Abbotsford Heat and only three wins away from the second place Rochester Americans. The Lake Erie Monsters sit behind the Moose in fifth spot. Hamilton still remains the cream of the crop with 94 points in the North Divison.

Special Team Report:

After scoring two powerplay goals last night and stopping all five of Rockford's powerplay opportunities, the Moose moved up in both special team departments. They are now 26th in the league on the powerplay (13.1 percent) and 17th overall on the penalty kill (82 percent).
