Match Up

Moose vs. Americans:

Tuesday night's match-up between the Manitoba Moose and Rochester Americans is their first clash at the Blue Cross Arena this season. So far this campaign the Moose are 1-1-0-0 against the Amerks, splitting their first series at MTS Centre back in December. Historically, the Moose are 28-14-3-1 against the Florida Panthers' affiliate (15-4-2-1 on visiting ice). Captain Mike Keane is the only current Moose skater who has notched a goal against the Americans. Goaltender Cory Schneider has appeared in both contests against the club this season for a 2.51 GAA and 0.915 save percentage.

Back in Black:

Manitoba's seventh road trip this season -- consisting of four games -- starts tonight against the Rochester Americans. The tour will start in Rochester but hop to Toronto (February 17), then back to Rochester (February 19), then back to Toronto (February 20) to close-out the trip. The Moose are 10-13-2-0 on the road so far this season and were 1-5-0-0 on their last road trip (January 22-31). Manitoba's most recent away game was a match against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on January 31 (1-3L). The Moose play their next seven games on the road and won't be back at MTS Centre until March 2, 2010.

North Division Race:

Manitoba's next four contests will be against North Division rivals -- a tight division that has only eight points between second and fifth place. The Moose currently sit in third with 58 points, matched up with the Abbotsford Heat who also hold 58 points. Rochester is second in the division with 64 points, only four points ahead of the Moose. Lake Erie (56), Grand Rapids (50) and Toronto (50) are all fighting for fourth spot with only six points between them. The Hamilton Bulldogs sit in top spot with 76 points after 55 games played.

Players To Watch

Grabner Busts Slump:

Moose sniper Michael Grabner enters tonight's contest on a two-game points streak. The Villach, Austri native has collected four points in his last pair of games (3g, 1a) -- earning his first three-point night on February 12 vs. the Marlies. Grabner has played in 25 games with the Moose this season where he has recorded 19 points (10g, 9a).

Baumer is Back:

After missing the last 10 games while playing up with the Vancouver Canucks, defenceman Nolan Baumgartner is back in antlers for tonight's game. Baumgartner was re-assigned to Manitoba on February 15 after playing eight games with the Canucks and collecting one goal. Baumgartner has appeared in 30 games with the Moose this season where he has earned seven points (1g, 6a) along with 20 penalty minutes.

Busy Between the Pipes:

Moose goaltender Cory Schneider has played in 10 of Manitoba's last 12 games. In that span he has made 256 saves. So far this season, the third year netminder has appeared in 39 games for a 22-16-1 record, 2.65 GAA and 0.912 save percentage.
