Match Up

Moose vs. Marlies:

Saturday's match-up between the Manitoba Moose and Toronto Marlies is their last at MTS Centre this season. The Moose have picked up all six points against the Marlies so far this campaign after winning three straight games in Winnipeg. Historically, the Moose are 23-8-2-2 against the Maple Leafs affiliate (14-4-0-1 at MTS Centre). The Moose are now Toronto bound for their next four contests against the Marlies -- playing there twice next week and then twice there in April. Marco Rosa leads all Moose skaters with six points (3g, 3a) against the Marlies whle goaltender Cory Schneider has earned all three victories against the club.

Notes on the North:

Manitoba continues their six-game stretch against North Division rivals. So far this season the Moose are 13-5-1-0 within the North Division. They currently sit in third with 58 points -- four points back from the second place Americans and 18 points back from the first place Bulldogs. The bottom half of the division is a bit tighter with the third, fourth and fifth teams a total of two points apart (Manitoba-58; Abbotsford-56; Lake Erie-56).

Plenty of Penalty Minutes:

The Moose earned a season-high 52 penalty minutes Friday night in a 5-1 victory over the Toronto Marlies. Their previous record on the season was 50 minutes recorded November 13, 2009 -- also in a 5-1 victory over Toronto. The current roster is still far from reaching the club's franchise record which sits at 113 minutes vs. Orlando on December 4, 1996 (3-7L).

Penalty Killers:

For the first time in five games the Moose were flawless on the penalty kill -- stopping all 10 of Toronto's powerplay chances. In 54 games so far this season Manitoba has been 100 percent in the penalty kill department in 25 games. They rose to 18th in the league at 81.5 percent.

Players To Watch

Rosa Records Three-Point Night:

Moose centre Marco Rosa elevated himself to first on the team leaderboard after scoring two goals and adding an assist in last night's 5-1 victory over the Toronto Marlies. This is Rosa's third three-point night this season. After 54 games played, the Scarborough, Ontario native leads the Moose with 36 points (16g, 20a). He also leads his team with points against the Marlies with six (3g, 3a).

Grabner Grabs Three:

After going goalless for 14 games, Moose sniper Michael Grabner scored a pair of goals and added an assist in Friday night's victory. Grabner has played in 24 games with the Moose this season where he has recorded 18 points (9g, 9a). He holds three points against the Marlies this season -- good enough for second on the Moose squad. This is the first three-point night for the Villach, Austria native this campaign.

Calm, Cool, Collected, Cory:

Moose goaltender Cory Schneider has been flawless against the Marlies this season posting a 3-0-0 record, 0.97 goals against average and 0.955 save percentage.
