Veteran centre Josh Green damaged tendons in his right hand in a fight on Saturday and will need surgery. Green is expected to miss six weeks. Coupled with Nathan Smith's knee injury (Smith isn't expected back until April), the club found itself very thin at centre ice yesterday. Moose GM Craig Heisinger reacted by signing Scott Kelman. A Winnipegger, Kelman had been playing with the Gwinnet Gladiators of the ECHL where he scored six goals and 13 assists in 15 games this season.
* The Moose assigned defenceman James DeMone to the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL yesterday. DeMone has played in 20 games for the Moose this season picking up two assists and 67 penalty minutes.
* Forward Jozef Balej and goalie Rob McVicar were both returned to the Moose yesterday after dressing Sunday for the Vancouver Canucks. Balej will travel to Pennsylvania with the Moose but McVicar is expected to be re-assigned to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL and continue to be used as Vancouver's emergency goalie.
* Alain Vigneault said yesterday he would start newcomer Maxime Ouellet for tomorrow's and Friday's games and go with Wade Flaherty on Saturday.
