By Press Release, Moose
The Manitoba Moose today announced they have re-assigned defenceman Taylor Ellington to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.
Ellington, 21, has appeared in 13 games with the Moose so far this season. In that span, he has collected one assist and seven penalty minutes. The Victoria, BC native has also played in 27 games with the Salmon Kings this season where he has recorded 11 points (2g & 9a) and 20 penalty minutes.
Last season, the left-handed defenceman appeared in one game with the Moose were he scored a goal. In his junior career, the rookie defenseman played five seasons with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League where he appeared in a career total 287 games for 66 points (14g & 52a) and 371 penalty minutes.
Ellington was originally drafted by Vancouver in the second round, 33rd overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Ellington is much more reliable on defense than Oberg. Couldn't we have sent him instead?

Taylor is a solid albeit young pro defenseman. I am sure he will have a great career ahead of him but the Canucks are sure to give up on him too soon as usual and he will come back to haunt them. We do need him back with the Kings as we need to kick Alaska while they are down.

Joe you obviously don't know what your talking about if you think the Moose should keep Ellington over Oberg. So why don't you keep your comments to yourself.
FYI Selkirk Steelers is a junior team not ECHL.

Relax George. I was just being sarcastic. Both Oberg and Ellington are only good enough to play in the MJHL.

buddddiiies...Oberg is unreal. He'll be a nuck in a year maybeee two. Ellington realistically will be a minor league player for lyfe. Anddd Pope shoulda been assigned to the MJHL instead of the ECHL. he doesnt deserve the right to be playing hockey for money.
