The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation was created in October of 1996, as the charitable arm of the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club.
The Yearling Foundation is a non-profit organization, which raises money year round and donates these funds to registered children's charities in Manitoba.
Since its inception, the Yearling Foundation has raised and dispersed over 1.6 million dollars!
In 2007-08, the Yearling Foundation donated over $228,000 to 27 various children's charities. The funds were raised through Yearling Foundation events
such as:
Flatlander's Beer Festival
Ranger Insurance Charity Golf Classic
The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation Gala Dinner
50-50 draws at Moose hockey games
The Yearling Foundation operates under the direction of Executive Director Kelly McArthur and Coordinator Andrea Gantzel, and in partnership with a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors headed by Chairperson George Sigurdson, Vice Chairperson Debbie Kocen, and board members Kevin Neiles, Norva Riddell, Blake Fitzpatrick, Mark Strople, Robert Thorsten, Kevin Moore, Joanne Harder, Brian Lerner, Laurie Finley, and Rod Woodcock
Ranger Insurance Brokers has hosted the Charity Golf Classic in support of the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation for the last nine years, and has raised a total of $235,000 in that time! Because of this commitment, Ranger Insurance Brokers continues to be the title sponsor of the Yearling Foundation.
The Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation would like to thank all the volunteers and sponsors who help make all of our Yearling events a great success. If you are interested in volunteering this season or becoming a sponsor, please contact Andrea Gantzel at 987-PUCK or by email at agantzel@moosehockey.com for more information.
