2007/08 Manitoba Moose and Red River College “Respond to Reading” Program

On behalf of the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club and Red River College, we would like to thank all the schools/classrooms that participated in the 2008 Manitoba Moose “Respond to Reading” Program, which was developed to encourage Grade K – 5 students to read leading up to “I Love To Read” month.

Not only did participating students enjoy the benefits of reading, but many students won some fantastic incentive prizes. Here are the 2008 Incentive Prize winners:

K – Grade 1 Winner
Class received a pizza lunch personally delivered by Mick E. Moose and complimentary Moose tickets to the home game on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

Springs Christian Academy – Grade K

Grades 2 – 3 Winner
Each student in the class received a team autographed Manitoba Moose flag, also delivered by Mick E. Moose, and complimentary Moose tickets to the home game on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

Island Lakes Community School – Grade 3

Grades 4 – 5
Broadcasting Experience Winner
The entire class won a Broadcasting experience at Red River College (Downtown Campus) on March 3, 2008, along with, complimentary Moose tickets to the home game on Wednesday, March 19, 2008.

Culinary Experience Winner
This class won a Culinary experience at Red River College (Notre Dame Campus) on March 4, 2008, along with, complimentary Moose tickets to the home game on Wednesday, March 19, 2008.

Manitoba Moose Player Visits
All of these classes received a visit by two Manitoba Moose players, who read to their class, answered questions the students had, and provided autographed Moose Calendars to each student.
