The Peoria Rivermen defeated the Manitoba Moose 2-1 Friday night, sweeping their two-game series with the Moose and stretching Manitoba's losing streak to six games. Greg Classen scored Manitoba's lone goal of the contest, and rookie goaltender Cory Schneider made 21 saves in his ninth loss of the season.

First Period
Both the Moose and Rivermen switched up their goaltenders for Friday night's rematch, with rookie Cory Schneider manning the pipes for the home team and Chris Beckford-Tseu making his MTS Centre debut in blue.
A pushing match behind Schneider's net at 3:18 and then a tripping penalty to Mike Brown near the 7:00 mark gave Peoria back-to-back man-advantages, but the Moose killed the first and then drew their own penalty midway through the second to even the odds and take their first shot lead of the game.
On the club's sixth shot, Greg Classen broke a 21-game goal-less drought, fooling Beckford-Tseu from the middle of the near face-off circle to put the Moose up 1-0.
A period-closing interference penalty to Alex Brooks gave Manitoba their second man-advantage, and the team closed out the first up 1-0 and with a five-on-four and four-shot lead.
Second Period
Five minutes into the second, the Rivermen nearly earned the equalizer, but when sprawled on his crease, Schneider slid his right arm along the goal-line and corralled the puck before it snuck across. Peoria continued to push, however, and one minute later, Chris Porter beat the rookie high blocker-side to make the game 1-1.
Although the Moose continued to lead the shot count, the visitors were the next to light the lamp. With six minutes left in the second, Ryan Glenn wired the puck through traffic and into top left corner to put the Rivermen up 2-1.
At the end of the second and with Juraj Simek in the penalty box, Manitoba was up 19 shots to 16 but down a goal and a player.
Third Period
Peoria's man-advantage and another for Manitoba failed to add to the goal tally in the first half of the third. In the final six minutes, a hooking penalty to Pierre-Cedric Labrie gave the Rivermen their fourth powerplay, but acrobatic saves courtesy of Schneider kept the Moose within one.
As the minutes ticked down, the Moose cracked the 30-shot mark by firing a flurry of shots on Beckford-Tseu. But with Schneider out of his crease and six skaters on the ice for the final minute of play, the desperate club was unable to force extra time and extended their losing streak to six games with a 2-1 loss to Peoria.
