Manitoba will have to duplicate their first round feat as they head home for Games 6 and 7 down 3-2 in the series. The Moose dropped Game 5 3-1, as Hamilton completely shut down the Manitoba powerplay, leaving them 0-for-7 with the man-advantage. Although Manitoba did outshoot Hamilton 36-28, only Brandon Reid could solve Carey Price on one of the nicer goals of the playoffs. Game 6 will be played Monday night at the MTS Centre at 7:30PM.

First Period
Carey Price is back between the pipes for the Bulldogs today, while the Moose will switch up their netminders going with Drew MacIntyre in goal.
Andrew Archer took the first penalty of the game at 1:28 of the opening period, as he got a little rough with Colby Genoway in front of the Bulldogs bench.
Brad Moran and Duncan Milroy took coincidental minors 0:30 into the Moose man-advantage, but Manitoba stayed on the powerplay.
Maxim Lapierre had the best early chance as he picked off a pass and broke in on a shorthanded breakaway. Drew MacIntyre looked razor sharp as he stoned Lapierre with his glove to keep the game scoreless. Prestin Ryan took a slashing penalty on the play to bring an end to the Moose advantage.
MacIntyre stepped up big again as he stoned Jonathan Ferland in tight with a quick right pad save when the Bulldogs moved to the powerplay.
The parade to the penalty box continued early as Corey Locke was sent to the sin bin for hooking at 7:50 and then while shorthanded Duncan Milroy took an undisciplined penalty for roughing as he punched Jason Jaffray in the back of the head at the Bulldogs bench. That penalty gave the Moose a 5-on-3 advantage for 0:56.
Manitoba worked the puck around nicely and managing a few long shots on net, but no goals as the Bulldogs killed off both penalties.
Andre Benoit gave the Moose their fourth man-advantage at 14:40 when he was called for elbowing. Once again the Bulldogs had the best chance shorthanded just before the penalty expired as Kyle Chipchura fed a pass out front to Duncan Milroy but he just put the puck past the right post.
Brad Moran was given his second penalty of the game as he was called for hooking to give the Bulldogs their second powerplay opportunity. Hamilton came ever-so-close to opening the scoring when Danny Groulx was robbed on the doorstep by Drew MacIntyre along the goal line just as the period was winding down. The Bulldogs continued to jam away at the puck but the referee blew the play dead, calling a glove pass on Hamilton.
With that the first period came to an end as the Bulldogs and Moose played another scoreless period. Manitoba leads 14-9 in shots but failed to capitalize on their four first period powerplays.
Second Period
Michael Lambert inserted into the lineup for the first time in this series blasted a hard shot from the face-off circle that ricocheted off the shoulder of Drew MacIntyre for an early scoring chance in period two.
Ryan O'Byrne crunched Alex Edler with a well-timed hip-check along the boards that sent the young Swede limping to the Moose bench.
Hamilton would take the lead as the Moose got caught running around in their own zone. Mikhail Grabovski spotted a wide open Dan Jancevski at the left point who had a wide open lane to the goal with Duncan Milroy standing out front screening. The Bulldogs defenceman stepped into a slapper that beat Drew MacIntyre just inside the right post for his first goal of the post-season. Grabovski and Corey Locke assisted on the opening goal at 9:29.
Then Manitoba took a penalty as Mike Brown was called for hooking to give the Bulldogs a chance to extend their lead. The Moose were able to kill off the penalty without incident as several Moose players laid down in front of Bulldog shots to block the bulk of Hamilton's opportunities.
The teams clamped down defensively at that point, as the second period would end with the Bulldogs leading by a slim one goal margin heading to the final period.
Third Period
Nathan Smith took a hooking penalty as the period had expired on period two to give the Bulldogs a man-advantage to start period three.
The Bulldogs would make the Moose pay as Mathieu Biron scored his second goal of the playoffs, stepping into a point blast that beat Drew MacIntyre. Corey Locke fed the pass across to Biron who fired the puck back behind Drew MacIntyre who was coming across the goal crease. Locke and Jonathan Ferland assisted on the powerplay marker for Hamilton at 0:54.
Brandon Reid scored on a beautiful individual effort as he dipsy-doodled through two Bulldog defenders before poking the puck past Carey Price to get the Moose on the board. Mike Keane and Yannick Tremblay assisted on the goal at 10:26 to cut the Bulldog lead to 2-1.
Mikhail Grabovski was called for high-sticking shortly after to give the Moose a great chance to net the game-tying goal. Manitoba failed to threaten with the man-advantage as the Moose fell to 0-for-6 on the powerplay in the again.
Ryan O'Byrne took a high-sticking penalty to give Manitoba their seventh powerplay chance of the game. However, the Bulldogs completely shut down the Moose powerplay, not allowing a single shot on net.
The Moose pressed in the dying minutes of the game to pot the game-tying goal, but could not get it. Scott Arniel called timeout for the Moose with 0:34 left to play as the face-off came in the Bulldogs zone. Drew MacIntyre stayed on the bench for the extra attacker but it didn't help as the Moose could not solve Price.
Ajay Baines was awarded an empty net goal as he was hooked on a clear breakaway to the open goal by Yannick Tremblay. The puck never actually went into the net which caused some confusion.
Manitoba will now have to duplicate their first round feat as they head home for Games 6 and 7 down 3-2 in the series. Manitoba did complete the comeback against the Griffins in the North Semifinal, it was the first time in their franchise history that they came back to win a series when dropping Game 5.
