The San Antonio Rampage scored four second period goals to beat the Manitoba Moose 5-2 in the final clash between these teams this season. Rampage goaltender David LeNeveu made 29 saves for the win, while Moose back-up keeper Julien Ellis struggled in his first start at home this season.

First Period
The San Antonio Rampage opened the first period with a bit of spunk firing two early shots on Manitoba goaltender Julien Ellis. Starting his first home game of the season, Ellis turned aside both shots with two solid saves.
San Antonio's Logan Stephenson took a high-sticking penalty at 3:41 to put the Moose on the powerplay. Manitoba hit Rampage netminder David LeNeveu with three shots, but they couldn't sneak one by him to get the first goal of the game.
A scrum in front of the San Antonio net put Manitoba a man down at 6:14, as Adam Keefe was called for roughing. The Moose's second ranked penalty kill held the Rampage to only one shot.
Running into some penalty trouble of their own, San Antonio forward Jakub Koreis was called for interference at 12:17, but the Moose failed to capitalize once again. Manitoba got their best scoring chance just as the penalty expired when Jason Jaffray hit the post from just outside LeNeveu's crease.
Jakub Koreis took another penalty at 16:14, giving the Moose a chance to take the lead before the end of the opening period. LeNeveu stood his ground though; comfortably stopping all three shots fired his way, leaving Manitoba 0-3 with the man advantage.
The Moose recorded 9 shots in the first period, while the Rampage had 6 shots.
Second Period
After a few minutes of exchanging shots, San Antonio opened the scoring at 5:27 when Chris Ferraro fired a pass across the Manitoba crease to Donald MacLean who chipped in his 13th goal of the season. Barely trickling over the line, it was a goal that Moose keeper Julien Ellis definitely wants back.
The Rampage struck again :19 seconds later as a streaking Joel Perrault carried the puck into the Moose zone down the left side boards. Perrault fired the puck in front of the Manitoba net, where it was redirected past Ellis by Yanick Lehoux for his 19th goal of the season.
The onslaught continued a few minutes later at 9:49, as Manitoba was unable to clear the puck out of their end. Ellis made a nice save off a point shot from the blueline, but the Moose got their wires crossed and the rebound ended up on the tape of Bill Thomas who rifled a shot on Ellis. After the Moose netminder made the initial save, Manitoba's defense couldn't clear the puck once again and Jeff Taffe scored his 13th goal of the season. Tyler Redenbach recorded an assist on the goal.
Manitoba showed some life near the end of the second period getting a few good chances to score in close, but instead of the Moose getting on the score sheet, it was the Rampage who added to their lead. A mix-up in front of the Manitoba net led to Pascal Rheaume's 10th goal of the season at 19:01.
In a period Manitoba would most certainly like to forget, San Antonio tallied four goals on 20 shots. The Moose matched their first period output with nine shots.
Third Period
Despite a 4-8-2-0 record when trailing after two periods, the Moose refused to roll over and play dead and looked for a spark by replacing starting goalie Julien Ellis with Drew MacIntyre to start the third period.
The goaltending change resulted in more offense from the Moose as they peppered David LeNeveu with seven shots early on in the period. They finally got on the scoreboard at 9:07 as Jannik Hansen’s wrist shot hit Logan Stephenson's skate and deflected past LeNeveu. The goal was Hansen's 9th of the season, while Mike Keane and Maxime Fortunus each recorded assists.
Manitoba continued their strong play with less than 7 minutes to play, as a mad scramble in front of the San Antonio net helped Captain Mike Keane score his 7th goal of the season. With San Antonio desperately trying to clear the puck, Keane held it in and snuck it past a clueless David LeNeveu. J.J. Hunter and Prestin Ryan assisted on the goal.
Any thoughts of a Moose comeback were wiped out at 19:12 though, as Jeff Taffe put the biscuit in the basket with Drew MacIntyre on the bench to seal the deal.
Despite outshooting San Antonio 16-5 in the final period, it was too little, too late for Manitoba in the end. The Moose outshot the Rampage 34-31 overall.
Moose scratches: Joe Rullier, Dustin Wood, Tyler Bouck, Patrick Coulombe, Wade Flaherty.
