Jesse Schultz, Jason Jaffray, and Brad Moran each scored, while Lee Goran and Yannick Tremblay each recorded two assists as the Manitoba Moose tamed the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-0 in front of 7329 fans. First Period

A wide open first few minutes saw the teams exchange chances, but Jesse Schultz put the Moose on the board at 3:41 scoring his 10th goal of the season. Taking a pretty pass from Prestin Ryan, Schultz beat Hamilton goaltender Yann Danis as he tucked the puck just under the cross-bar while falling to the ice. Captain Mike Keane recorded his 8th assist of the season on the goal.

Bulldogs defenceman Dan Jancevski took a hooking penalty just over three minutes later, but the Moose were unable to capitalize.

Manitoba had another chance to add to their lead with 8:21 remaining in the period as Francis Lemieux took a tripping penalty. Once again the Bulldogs stifled the Moose, holding them to only one shot.

2005 Canadian World Junior team captain Kyle Chipchura took a cross-checking penalty with only one minute remaining to put Hamilton down a man, and this time Manitoba took advantage. With 2.2 seconds left, Yannick Tremblay threw the puck in front of the Bulldogs net where Lee Goren redirected it to Jason Jaffray, who scored his 24th goal of the season. Jaffray now has a seven game goal streak and has points in nine of his last ten games.

The Moose out shot the Bulldogs 9-4 in the first period.

Second Period

After killing off a roughing penalty assessed to Zack Stortini at the end of the first period, Hamilton started moving the puck well, testing Manitoba goaltender Drew MacIntyre with a few shots in close. MacIntyre continued his strong play not allowing the Bulldogs any easy rebounds.

Chasing down a puck in the Hamilton zone, Alexandre Bolduc showed a little too much aggression as he was given two minutes in the box for hooking at 7:20. After killing off half the penalty, Manitoba defenceman Nathan McIver also took a hooking penalty to put the Bulldogs up two men for :44 seconds. MacIntyre and company were up to the challenge though, killing off both penalties, while allowing only two shots.

Not a lot of action to end the second period with the exception of a few more nice saves by Drew MacIntyre. D-Mac made 7 saves in the period, while Hamilton's Yann Danis was only forced to stop 3 shots.

Third Period

Manitoba had a glorious opportunity to add to their lead two minutes into the third period as Jason Jaffray and Jesse Schultz broke in alone on netminder Yann Danis, but Schultz fired the puck high.

Quick puck movement by both teams led to a few stretches of great end-to-end action, highlighted by Prestin Ryan levelling Mikhail Grabovski behind the Moose net. Ryan was not penalized on the play, but Grabovski spent time dazed and confused on the 'Dogs bench.

Manitoba padded their lead with 10:55 left to play as Yannick Tremblay circled behind the net and fed a wide-open Brad Moran in the slot, allowing him to snap home his 16th goal of the season with ease. Tremblay recorded his second assist of the night, as did right winger Lee Goren.

Knowing a loss was immanent, the Bulldogs set their sights on at least breaking Drew MacIntyre's shutout as they peppered him with shots late, but once again MacIntyre was up to the challenge. D-Mac recorded his second shutout of the season, stopping all 19 shots. Hamilton goaltender Yann Danis made 14 saves in the loss.

Moose scratches: Joe Rullier, J.J. Hunter, Dustin Wood, Tyler Bouck, Wade Flaherty.
