The Moose broke open a 2-1 game in the last 10:00 of the game in San Antonio, as Manitoba scored four late goals and cruised to a 6-1 victory. The win is the fourth in-a-row for the team a season-high. Wade Flaherty stepped right in where Drew MacIntyre left off as he supplied the team with a solid game between the pipes and earned his seventh victory of the year. The Moose have now moved two games above .500 on the season with a record of 14-12-3-2 for 33 points in the standings. The team now heads back to Houston tomorrow night before returning to San Antonio on Sunday to end their Texas road-trip.

First Period

Jason Jaffray scored his 17th goal of the season to put the Moose up 1-0 at 6:55 of the first period. After a long stretch of sustained pressure in the Rampage zone, Dustin Wood kept in a clearing attempt at the blueline and then wristed a shot on goal that was deflected towards the right corner. Marc-Andre Bernier corraled the puck and then spun and fired a pass at the front of the net where Jaffray chipped the puck into the top-left corner of the net to put the visiting Moose up by one.

Lee Goren did a nice job of driving to the net as he took the puck just outside the San Antonio blueline and then forced his way through four Rampage defenders before getting a good shot on net. David LeNeveu made the save but Ryan Garlock took a hooking penalty on the play, putting the Moose on the powerplay.

The Rampage were able to kill off the minor, and the period ended with the Moose up 1-0, thanks to Jaffray's team-leading 17th. The Moose lead the Rampage 10-7 in shots, while both teams went 0-for-1 on the powerplay in the opening frame.

Second Period

The Rampage wasted no time getting back on even terms as Jeff Taffe carried the puck over the Moose blueline and dished off a pass to Bill Thomas on his left. Thomas fired a shot on Flaherty who made the initial save, but the rebound bounced out to the high slot where Don MacLean swooped in and lifted the puck up-and-over Flaherty who was stretching to try and corral the loose puck. The game-tying goal came just :59 into the second period.

Before anyone had a chance to catch their breath the Moose answered to regain their lead just :08 seconds after the Rampage had tied the game. Right off the face-off the Moose took the puck into the Rampage zone. Alex Edler stopped a clearing attempt at the point and fired a slapper on goal where Lee Goren crashed the net and stuffed the puck, the goalie, and himself into the net to put the Moose back on top.

Rampage defenceman Matthew Spiller hammered Marc-Andre Bernier into the boards from behind dropping the Moose forward to the ice in the left corner. A scrum ensued behind the Rampage net where Mike Brown came to the defence of his team-mate, dropping the gloves with Spiller. Both players threw a few punches but Spiller tied up Brown and the linesmen stepped in to break it up before it really started.

Marc-Andre Bernier returned and took a late penalty at 19:36 of the second to give the Rampage a late powerplay opportunity. The Moose were able to kill off the first part of the penalty but will start the third period shorthanded.

Third Period

With Rampage defenceman Logan Stephenson in the penalty box for hooking, the Moose went to work with the man-advantage. Brad Moran scored his 12th goal of the season to put the visiting Moose up 3-1 on the Rampage. Alex Edler fed a pass to Joe Rullier on the left-hand boards who then looked up and fed a beautiful cross-ice pass back-door to a wide-open Brad Moran who made no mistake as he one-timed home his seventh powerplay goal of the season at 10:02 of the third. The powerplay goal marks the tenth straight game that the Moose have notched a goal with the man-advantage.

Nathan McIver was given a 5:00 major for high-sticking at 13:01 of the third to give the hometown Rampage a chance to get back in it.

Fortunately for Manitoba, the Rampage they took two straight minor penalties to put the Moose on a 4-on-3 man-advantage.

The Moose took advantage again as Lee Goren grabbed the puck behind the Rampage net, wheeled around the goal and fired a pass cross-crease to Brad Moran who knocked the water bottle off the net as he roofed home the one-time shot for his second goal of the game.

Just over a minute later Brandon Reid spotted Nathan McIver coming out of the penaly box and sent him in on a break-away. McIver streaked down the left-hand boards before cutting across the crease and back-handing the puck around the out-stretched pad of David LeNeveu for his first goal of the season putting the Moose up 5-1.

The Moose weren't done however, as Brandon Reid broke in on a 2-on-1 with Marc-Andre Bernier just :47 later. Reid used Bernier as a decoy firing home his sixth goal of the season five-hole on LeNeveu.

The Moose cruised from their as they earned their fourth straight win, a season-high. Wade Flaherty stepped right in where Drew MacIntyre left off as he supplied the team with a solid game between the pipes and earned his seventh victory of the year. Flaherty has only allowed one goal in his last three starts versus the Rampage, a team that he played 30 games for in the 2002-03 season. In his career Flaherty is now a perfect 8-0-0 versus the San Antonio Rampage.
