The Manitoba Moose earned their 13th win of the season and climbed above .500 for just the second time this season thanks to some unexpected offensive contributions and the strong goaltending of Drew MacIntyre. The Moose got goals from Maxime Fortunus and Adam Keefe, their first goals of the season for the club while Drew MacIntyre made 35 saves for his third straight win, a 4-1 decision over the Houston Aeros. The Moose start their four-game texas road trip with a win, improving their record to 13-12-3-2 on the season. The Moose now head to San Antonio to face the Rampage this Friday, December 15th at 7:00PM CDT.

First Period

Drew MacIntyre making his third straight start for the Moose looked sharp once again between the pipes for the team as he made a few nice saves in the opening period.

The Moose scored a goal that was immediatley waved off by the referee who claimed that Brad Moran knocked the puck down with a high-stick.

Nathan Smith scored officially to get the visitors on the board with just :17 seconds left in the first period to put the Moose up 1-0. Jannik Hansen did the bulk of the work on the goal as he retrieved the puck behind the Aeros' goal thanks to an aggressive forecheck, he then held onto the puck until Smith came loose at the top of the crease, where Hansen backhanded a pass to Smith who was able to one-time the puck through the five-hole on goalie Josh Harding. Brad Moran drew the second assist on the go-ahead goal for the Moose.

Second Period

With the Moose enjoying a 2-man advantage, Maxime Fortunus scored his first goal of the season to give Manitoba a 2-0 lead. Milan Gajic walked out of the left corner and tried to jam the puck in the short side, Harding made the initial save but the rebound came out to a pinching Fortunus who whacked the puck home for the powerplay marker. The goal moved the Moose's consecutive games streak with at least one powerplay marker to nine games.

Drew MacIntyre is proving to be the difference as the Moose have been heavily outshot through two periods but still lead 2-0 on the scoreboard.

Third Period

The home squad finally got on the board as Erik Reitz took a slapshot from the point that found its way through the pads of a screened Drew MacIntyre. Matt Foy and Peter Olvecky drew the assists on the goal at 4:51 of the final frame.

Adam Keefe known more for his hard fists than his soft hands, scored his first goal of the season to restore the two-goal lead for the Moose. Keefe pounced on a rebound in the right slot that he slapped past Josh Harding restoring the two-goal lead for the Moose. Joe Rullier and Mike Keane assisted on Keefe's first goal of the season at 13:46 of the third.

Dustin Wood added an extra insurance marker as he slapped a shot from the right point at 16:22 of the third to give the Moose a 4-1 lead. Jean-Francois David, playing in his first game with the Moose after being called up from the ECHL, drew one of the assists and Nathan Smith got the other on Wood's second goal of the season.

Drew MacIntyre made 35 saves for his third straight victory and was awarded the games first star.
