This was a tale of two games as the Moose came out flat and fell behind 4-1 after one period. But then battled back to score five unanswered goals to earn their third straight win. The Moose will face the Admirals again tomorrow night at the MTS Centre as they try and extend their winning streak to four games.

First Period

Sheldon Brookbank took a shot from the point that took a deflection high over the shoulder of Wade Flaherty to put the Admirals up 1-0 at the 2:51 mark of the first period. The goal was credited to Pat Leahy who was parked in front of the Moose net with Kelsey Wilson drawing the second assist.

With Manitoba enjoying a powerplay, Brad Moran took a pass from Jason Jaffray on the right hand boards and tried to pass cross-crease to Lee Goren. The pass was blocked by Admirals' defenceman Nolan Yonkman and deflected right back to Moran who tucked the puck home on the short side. Scott Reid had vacated the near post in anticipation of the pass to Goren. The goal was Moran's eighth of the year at 6:56 of the first period.

Brandon Segal restored the Milwaukee lead as he scored on a mad scramble in front of the Moose net, firing a shot that missed the net, but Cal O'Reilly backhanded the puck back in front and Segal slapped the puck home on the second chance. Kevin Klein drew the second assist on the goal at 8:37 of the first.

Milwaukee added to their lead as they dumped the puck in behind the Moose net. Pat Leahy recovered the puck behind the goal on some strong forechecking and he fed the puck out to the slot where Shane Endicott fired home his first goal of the season, putting the Admirals up by two goals.

With :16 left in the first period Rich Peverley made a cross-ice pass to Kevin Klein who fired a one-timer on net that Wade Flaherty came sliding across to make the initial save on. Unfortunately, the rebound bounced straight to Kim Staal who was standing at the left side of the Moose net, and he was able to tuck the puck in the short side before Flaherty was able to recover. The goal put the visitors up 4-1 at the end of one period of play.

Second Period

Drew MacIntyre took over for Wade Flaherty to start the second period. Flaherty's night ended as he stopped seven of eleven shots on goal.

As J.J. Hunter was sitting in the box for goaltender interference, the Moose scored a strange shorthanded goal to cut the lead to two goals. Tyler Bouck fired a shot that Scott Reid got most of but the puck went behind him and started to trickle into the empty net. The Admirals defence tried to save the puck before it crossed the line but they crashed into the net and the puck dribbled across for the line. Referee Terry Koharski pointed emphatically to the goal even though the net appeared to come off before the puck had crossed the line.

Nathan Smith gloved the puck down just inside the Admirals blue line and fired home a shot high over the glove of Scott Reid to cut the lead to 4-3. Jannik Hansen and Jesse Schultz drew the assists on Smith's fifth goal of the season.

At the 10:53 mark of the period both teams got into a scrum in the left corner of the Admirals' zone. Prestin Ryan and Kelsey Wilson came out of the pile throwing bombs. Both players landed several hard shots but Prestin Ryan landed a left that knocked Wilson flat on his back, ending the fight.

Shortly after Nathan Smith and Brandon Segal decided that they would get in on the fistacuffs,as they dropped the gloves and faced-off right at centre ice. Both players removed their helmets and circled before the two grabbed on and started chucking the knuckles. Both players landed some great punches, Segal managed to get Smith's jersey over his head but Smith kept throwing and cut Segal over his right eye. Call this one a draw. The fights really looked to fire up the Moose as they came out playing hard after the two scraps.

With the Moose on a powerplay, Brad Moran fed the puck down low to Jason Jaffray in the corner where he fed the puck out front to Jesse Schultz who blasted a beautiful one-timer into the top corner past Reid. The goal was Schultz's sixth of the season and tied the game at four goals apiece.

Marc-Andre Bernier scored his first goal of the season for the Moose to put the home team up for the first time in the game. Jannik Hansen fed a nice pass out from the left corner behind the Admirals net to Bernier who fired the puck off the left post and in behind Scott Reid. Maxime Fortunus drew the second assist on Bernier's first ever AHL goal.

The Moose battled all the way back from a 4-1 deficit after one period, to take the lead 5-4 at the end of two periods.

Third Period

Frederic Cloutier replaced Scott Reid for the Admirals to start the third period. Reid surrendered five goals on 24 shots through two periods of play.

Brad Moran scored his second goal of the night on a beautiful passing play to put the Moose up 6-4. Shaun Heshka did a good job of keeping the puck in the Admirals zone and fired the puck deep behind the Milwaukee net. Jason Jaffray recovered the puck and fed it out to Lee Goren who was standing in the right slot. Goren one-timed a pass over to Brad Moran who was left alone in front of the Milwaukee goal where he backhanded the puck high over the blocker of Frederic Cloutier for his ninth goal of the season.

The Moose outshot the Admirals 36-21 as they scored five unanswered goals to earn their third win in a row.
