The teams exchanged the play in the first six minutes with the shots tied at four. Centomo made a nice kick save on an initial Rochester shot, then followed up by scrambling across the crease to get in front of the rebound.

The Amerks took the first powerplay of the game after DeMone was called for a hold along the boards. The Moose held Rochester's first place powrplay to only two shots and no real scoring opportunity as the DeMone penalty expired with eight minutes to play in the first.

The Moose took a two-man advantage with just over six minutes to play in the period after Janik was gated for hooking and Thorburn for a trip just under a minute later. The Moose capitalized immediately as Balej re-directed a Mojzis point shot and Jaffray was there to put back the rebound.

The Moose finished the first period on the powerplay leading 1-0 and trailing in shots 9-7.

With just under ten minutes played in the second period the Moose had recorded the only two shots in the period and neither team had mounted a decent attack.

Prestin Ryan gave the Amerks their third powerplay of the game at 10:02 of the second after he was called for hooking. Centomo was forced into three key saves to keep the game scoreless as the Amerks controlled the puck on the powerplay.

Minutes later the Moose almost made it a two-goal lead shorthanded after Darby picked up the puck at the Rochester blue line and had three great chances in on Pelletier before the Rochester defence cleared the puck.

Manitoba was given their fourth powerplay of the game after some nice hustle by Mike Keane forced Jillson into a hooking penalty. The Moose could get nothing going on the ensuing powerplay however, as a scoreless second period expired with the shots 18-14 for Rochester.

Action heated up minutes into the third when McIver and Thorburn decided to tangle after a scramble in front of the Rochester goal. The two players did more holding on then anything else and threw only a few punches before McIver was wrestled to the ground.

Manitoba went on the powerplay with just over 12 minutes to play in regulation after Jaffray was hauled down by Paetsch on a two-on-one with Jesse Schultz. The Moose contolled the puck in the Amerks zone for the majority of the powerplay but were unable to put any pressure on Pelletier recording only one weak shot on net.

With 6:27 to play in the third the Moose trailed the shot count 24-16.

Rochester pulled their goalie and were on a two-man advantage late in the game after a Tyler Bouck minor. The Moose were able to dump the puck and kept Rochester from mounting a comeback attack. The game finished with the shots 28-17.
