Houston had a great chance for an early goal with a minute gone in the game, Houston's Warde controlled the puck in the corner, took it behind the Moose goal, walked out in front and just about swept the puck underneath Flaherty.

Things got physcial as Burrow went to hit Foster, Foster seemed to get an elbow up on Burrows and dropped him. No penalty was called.

The Moose took the first penalty of the game as Jason Doig was sent off for kneeing. The Aeros capitalized on their first powerplay as Foster took a big shot from the point, Flaherty made the first, second and third saves but Westrum poked home a fourth rebound for a 1-0 Aeros lead.

Nearing the midway point of the first period the Moose were without a shot on goal with Houston leading the shots 10-0.

The Moose scored a pretty goal to tie the game up as Darby went around the Houston defencemen, flipped a backhand pass to Jaffray who one-timed a shot on net. Harding made the initial save but Jozef Balej was on the doorstep to whack home the rebound.

The Moose took their second penalty of the game late in the first after Burrows was called for interference right off of a face off. The Aeros looked to duplicate their first powerplay which led to their first goal as they controlled the puck in the Moose zone and looked to jump on rebounds off of big point shots. They were unsuccesful on this opportunity however as the score remained tied.

The first period closed out with the score deadlocked at ones and the shots 15-4 for the Aeros.

Houston regained the lead minutes into the second period as the Moose were punished for not clearing a Flaherty rebound, as Josh Olson was able to get his own rebound and stuff the puck into the bottom right corner.

The Moose finally got their first powerplay of the game at 3:51 of the second period as Eric Reitz was sent off for hooking. The Moose looked to continue their powerplay momentum after scoring four powerplay goals last night against San Antonio. Josh Harding made a couple of nice saves to keep the Aeros up one.

Seconds after the penalty expired the Moose drew even after Doig made a nice move aournd the defencemen through Houston's left circle and made a pretty pass to Balej who put home his second of the game.

The Aeros took their third lead of the game as Voloshenko found himself with the puck right in front of the net, Flaherty came out to challenge the play, and Voloshenko found Kirby Law who put the puck into a wide open net.

Rick Rypien had a great chance to tie the game shorthanded with seconds to play in the second as Rick Rypien snuck away from the Houston player and broke in alone on Josh Harding. Rypien controlled the puck but fired it just over the crossbar.

The second period expired with the score 3-2 Houston and with the Aeros leading the shot count, 24-13.

Action heated up to start the third period as Nathan McIver and Houston's Stokes dropped the mitts. A short fight lasted only a few seconds before both players fell to the ice. Neither was able to land a notable blow. Both were given five minute fighting penalties.

The Moose just about tied things up with six minutes gone in the third period. Mike Keane and Rick Rypien broke in two on one, Keane flipped a nice saucer pass over to Rypien who couldn't quite get a handle on it as the puck trickled wide.

Houston went on their sixth powerplay of the game at 13:59 after Nathan Smith was sent off for boarding.

The Moose pulled Flaherty with 1:30 to play in the third, while pressuring in the Aeros zone, Butenschon was knocked down at the point and the Aero's Kirby Law broke out on the empty net. Jason Jaffray was forced to hook him down; but it didn't matter in the end as time expired and the Moose lost for the first time in six games.
