The game started with Podlesak of the Rampage needing help off the ice as he was rubbed into the boards by Nathan Smith.

Manitoba took the first powerplay of the game as San Antonio's Matthew Spiller was sent of for interference. San Antonio had three chances to clear the zone as the Moose pressured, Fortunus took a pass at the point and rifled home the first goal of the game.

At 11:19 the Moose took a two man advantage for 29 seconds after Jacob Koreis took a slashing minor. Balej took the puck in the bottom corner of the Rampage zone and found Butenschon in the high slot, who wired home the second Moose powerplay goal of the game.

The Rampage had a clear three on one chance late in the first period but it was great backchecking by Brandon Nolan who dove head first to break up the play.

At the end of the first period the Moose led 2-0 and in shots 11-5.

The first penalty of the second period came at the 4:00 minute mark to Robert Gherson who was called for interference as he tripped a Rampage player outside of his crease. The Rampage continued their penalty woes registering only one weak shot on goal, and extending the powerplay goal drought to 0 for the last 42.

Minutes later Brandon Nolan put the Moose up three as he walked in all alone, made a beauty deke to the right, and went upstairs with the backhand.

The Moose took their fifth powerplay of the game after Gelech was sent off for hooking at 7:45. The Moose couldn not get anything going against a good Rampage penalty kill, and could register only one shot.

At 14:09 of the second the Rampage went on their fifth powerplay of the game after Nathan McIver was sent off for holding. The Rampage were able to control the Moose zone but couldn't develop a solid scoring opportunity, extending their powerplay drought to 0-43.

Manitoba put the game out of reach a minute later as they worked on the powerplay. Brett Skinner took a weak shot from the point which Stirling saved, giving up a huge rebound out in front, in which Nathan Smith deposited for a fourth Moose goal.

Moments later San Antonio's Jamie Lundmark stole the puck at centre, snuck in shorthanded, and made a nice move to beat Gherson, putting the Rampage on the score sheet.

As quick as the Rampage got on the score sheet, the Moose added another on the powerplay as Schultz found Butenschon at the point who blistered another shot from the point passed Stirling for a five to one lead.

A busy second period finished with the Moose up 5-1 and leading 15-11 in shots.

Things got physical to start the third period as Doull was given two minutes for roughing up Nathan McIver.

Jamie Lundmark had a good chance to give the Rampage a second goal as he streaked in on Gherson but put his shot right into Gherson's chest.

Things got heated as Tim Jackman and Jimmy Roy dropped the mitts, Jimmy got a few good shots in early, but Jackman returned the favor late in the tilt with a good left jab that seemed to hurt Roy before the linesmen broke it up.

Both teams seemed to go through the motions to finish a game that was out of reach much earlier. The game finished with the score remaining 5-1 and the shots at 26-21.
