Wade Flaherty stopped all 23 shots he faced to lead the Manitoba Moose to a 3-0 win over the Cleveland Barons Wednesday night. The Moose play again Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. against the Edmonton Road Runners.

Dimitri Patzold got the start in net tonight for the Barons, while Wade Flaherty started for the Moose.
Both teams traded chances in the first. Jason King, on a new line with Lee Goren and Ryan Kesler almost scored on a two-on-one rush with Goren but was just wide of the mark.
Later in the period, Cleveland cycled the puck deep in the Moose zone, eventually setting up a Garrett Stafford blast from the right faceoff circle that Flaherty handled.
Before the 15-minute mark, Ryan Kesler tipped a Tomas Mojzis point shot past Patzold for his 16th of the season to open the scoring.
On a Moose power play in the final minute of the opening period, Lee Goren stuffed a rebound in at the side of the to double the Moose lead. Kesler and King got the assists.
After one period, Manitoba had a 2-0 lead and had eight shots to Cleveland's six.
Early in the period, Jason King broke in alone on Patzold but was hauled down from behind setting up a penalty shot opportunity.
On the penalty shot, King elected to shoot and Patzold got a glove on his shot before deflecting it into the corner.
Patzold continued to turn aside Moose shooters. On a two-man advantage he made successive stops on both Kent Huskins from the point and King from in close. He then robbed Kesler by diving across and blocking a one-timer after a cross-ice pass by King.
Things started to heat up midway through the second. Nathan Smith and Nick Bootland dropped the gloves. Bootland got the better of the two in the bout, but Smith received an instigator on the play.
The Moose had another great chance to make it 3-0 when Jeff Heerema blasted a shot that handcuffed Patzold and dribbled across the crease.
After the second, the score remained 2-0. Shots in the middle frame were 13-8 for Cleveland though both teams were scoreless.
As the third period got underway, Cleveland's Nick Bootland engaged in his second fight of the game. This time, he fought Jimmy Roy with neither side holding much of an advantage in the bout.
Manitoba went on their sixth powerplay of the game when Marcel Goc picked the puck up in his zone and threw it down the ice.
Josh Green scored an empty-netter to guarantee the victory. Final shot tally was 24-23 as Flaherty registered his third shutout of the season, and third in a ten-day span.
